Oh bleh! You poor thing! It's been years since I've had it, but the only thing I can think of is not to put in contacts if you wear them (but I think that's pretty obvious).

    Hope you feel better soon!

I've gotten this a couple of times before. It'll go away very soon. Try Similasan at the local drugstore for some major relief. It's over the counter and REALLY works.

I've seen Similasan in the stores, I've been wanting to try both the Pink Eye and the Allergies versions.. is it safe? I get what seems to be a slight form of pink eye often, I barely even wear my contacts anymore due to these problems

I used to get styes and pink eye all the time. Wash everything in your house...I mean everythin. Laundry to kitchen. Everything you and he touches - WASH.

Say goodbye to that favorite eye pencil or mascara. You can keep them only if you want more pink eye.
I used to set a cool rag on my face to combat swelling.

*I knew youd get pink eye. grr. lol

Thanks.. I did throw out my mascara, I try to replace it often. I did have one pair of contacts (unfortunately I need custom made ones) and I am getting new ones soon. The thing is, even as soon as I put a brand new fresh pair of contacts in, my left eye gets all red and irritated..sheesh.

i am so sorry for you!!! Pink eye went around my son's preschool a few months ago and my son got it. the cream he got from the doctor is Sulfacetamide Sodium Ophthalmic Ointment. it is an actual cream and you have to coat your eye with it 3 times a day.

My son is 5, he hated it, my boyfriend and I had to hold him down just to get the cream in, I felt so bad, but he had to have the cream in his eyes or it wouldn't get better!

I hope yours clears up soon!!!

A couple of drops of colloidal silver will do the trick almost instantly - you can use it to sterilise eye pencils and sharperners etc and clean your house with it too.

(There is no argyria risk what-so-ever when using it topically.)

The cream does have the disadvantage of gumming up your vision for an hour or two of taking it. That same cream comes in a liquid form. You put a couple drops in the eye 4-5 times a day. More frequently than the cream, but doesn't affect your vision. I recommend warm compresses on the eye to my patients. Heat helps kill the virus/bacteria that's causing it.
