Hi everybody.
In case you didnt hear about it yet, I signed-up to fundraise for an organization that supports ovarian cancer research. It's called Ovarian Cycle and started-out in Atlanta as an indoor cycling event.

They have allowed me to have a fundraising page, even though I'll be doing all my riding here in Hawaii. My next ride will be during the Haleiwa Metric Century (100 kilometers or 62 road miles), where I'll be participating on behalf of Ovarian Cycle.
My biggest ride this year will take place on the Big Island during September (Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month), when I will be attempting to ride the circumference of the Big Island on my fixed gear/single speed bike. As far as I know, no one has ever ridden the circumference of the Big Island, let alone on a fixed gear bicycle.
If anyone would like to help me fundraise, here is the website I have set-up
http://www.ovarian808.org
You can help with a donation and/or by distributing the link around to anyone you think might be able to donate.
I'm participating this year in memory of my mother, Olivia Leina'ala Browning, who lost her life to ovarian cancer in February 1992.
Benefitting agencies are the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and the Ovarian Cancer Institute. Currently, there is no reliable and easy to administer test to detect ovarian cancer in its earliest, and most treatable stages. As a result, most women who have it only discovered their condition when the cancer has reached its later, and more terminal, stages. Both benefitting agencies are working to develop early detection tests, which would benefit thousands of women every year by finding ovarian cancer while it is most treatable.
Thanks for any help.
Duane
