Last night while at work, I got a severely sore throat. It came about in a matter of just a few hours. Now today, it hurts profusely when I swallow, I can't stick my tongue out too far, and I have an earache in my right ear. This is my own fault, because I was making out with my guy friend the other day(!), and sharing a joint with him, and he is known for having recurring cases of strep throat in his family.
I do NOT have health insurance, so I do not know what to do. Is seeing a doctor necessary to cure strep throat? I am against entering the ER uninsured for a non-"emergency" and then getting 1,000s of dollars of medical bills later...that happened before, and my credit is too valuable to have anything taint it. I am also against going to the shitty state "free" clinics...they make you wait outside at 5:30am in a line, and as a good-paid dancer there is also the issue of the free clinic harming my pride.
How long will it take before I can go back to work? I can barely talk, let alone drink any liquids without wincing in pain. My friend claims that he hasn't had any strep throat lately...is there a chance that maybe he passed along the contagious germs before it affected him? Please help.![]()
