Angry I have HAD IT with intentional illiteracy!

Everywhere I look I see words that aren't real words. People nowadays seem to think that it's cool to be illiterate! Come on, people!
    Krusty the Klown
Da (bomb, place to be, funk, etc)
    Trax
    Thanx
    Mexakins
    Kurls and Kuts
    Kool Kat

I don't know.... can't think of any more right now.

Anyways, it seems to me that authors of these "words" try to be funny and clever, when, in reality, what's funny and clever are PUNS

    Misspelled words are not puns!

Argh! Why TRY to look illiterate?

    Learn to spell!

Ah,finally someone that knows exactly how I feel.Misspelling whether intentional or not, makes your typing look very immature and juvenile.

Depends on the context, though, in my opinion. Krusty the Klown is done that way because he's an idiot, whereas Thanx is idiotic (yet thx is cool..heh).

I get far more irritated at people unintentionally spelling things like ridiculous with an e(hence, previous half-jest).

I can understand doing this once in a while to make your point or opinion in a light hearted joking manner, but not all the time in everything one types.

Well I do understand what you mean but for some people (including me), english is not their first language, I make an effort to speak and write english as good as I can, but sometimes i'm sure i make some error.

I'm sick of people mispronouncing words. Top three favorites:

    1. Suposably in stead of supposedly
    2. Heighth instead of height
    3. Irregardless instead of regardless

I know I'm going to get a lot of shit for this, but it makes me shudder when when people seriously use the word classy. I find that those who throw it around a lot have no clue what sophistication and elegance are.

Unfortunately, I'm a really bad speller and I'm guilty of consistantly using, "gonna" and " 'em". How klassy of me...

Heh.. I was quoting Zoey. A lot of people who are around now weren't around when she was. Very entertaining for those of us who were.

As for me, I hate misspellings, Leetspeak, Netspeak, Netspeak, whatever the hell you want to call it. I don't expect perfection when I'm having an online conversation with someone, but damn, look like you at least have some functioning brain cells. It's not cute or cool, it's retarded.

    From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leet

The name Leet generally refers to a linguistic phenomenon associated with the Internet. Leet is defined in terms of the corruption or modification of written text. For example, the term "leet" itself is often written "l33t" or "1337". Such corruptions are frequently referred to as "Leetspeak" or "L33t5p34k," et cetera (see below for cipher definitions). In addition to corruption of standard language, new colloquialisms have been added to the parlance. It is also important to note that Leet itself is not solely based upon one language or character set. In fact, Greek, Russian, Chinese, and other languages have been subjected to the Leet "cipher". As such, while it may be referred to as a "cipher", a "dialect", or a "language", Leet does not fit squarely into any of these categories.

Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"

Ha! My spelling leaves alot to be desired at times, but the mistakes are natural and can't be helped and i do try to correct myself when I realise my mistake.
I really hate 21st centuary spelling too, it pisses me off! I have one friend who will send me entire text messages made up of abreviations, barely using vowels at all and using the letter x extensivly like in "thx" it's so annoying! If I was clevererer (heh) I would start speaking to her in real life in the abreviated sounds her words make.
    "h s, hw r ur kds gn 2dy?" "Wana pty 2nt?" ridiculous!

Yes, they ought to be hit with a nuculer bomb!

I once overheard two guys talking. One told the other that there were some "classy ass" women at a local bar. I pondered that for some time, wondering if it were a literal or figurative thing and whether the words "classy" and "ass" could even legitimately be used in the same sentence.

    That's an oxymoron.

    I try to be useful.

And, of course, any time you need me, I'll be there.
