    Default help

I recently told my family I wanted to quit my job and start stripping. At first my parents acted like they were fine with it and then they started laying the guilt trips in. Some of my family even told me that I would end up raped, beaten up and targeted by serial killers. The only people who support me through all of this are my friends and my wonderful fiance. How can I explain to these idiots that what Im doing is just a good as a factory worker, doctor, etc?

what are your reasons for wanting to strip? your family probably knows you pretty well and Im sure they think your an intelligent girl with options...most parents would. By and by, stripping is not the same as being a doctor or really anything else not related to the adult industry.

Perhaps you should reflect on what it is you want to convince your family of and then direct your efforts there. Stripping isn't a bad profession per se, however you will have a near impossible time convincing 99% of people that Stripping is the same as being a Doctor.

Oh hell no... Not even close... Glad you said that... and better luck at convincing anyone that they are even remotely similar...

The whole thing is a theoretical argument right now, because you aren't actually stripping yet. Go get the job, work conscientiously for a few months, save some cash, continue being who you've already been your entire life... and then you can get upset if your family still doesn't support you. It sounds like they're more worried than anything else...

Why do you have to convince/tell anybody about anything you want to do? Whether you're just starting out or you've done this for 5 or 10 years, just because of the nature of the business people are always going to have something to say about it, so if you want to do it, you can't do it based on what others are going to think of you or you'll always feel like garbage.

    Well, I wouldn't say that it's as good as being a doctor...maybe a psychiatrist.

You need to do what YOU want to do. I say try it out for a while. See how it goes. Then think about how to reply to others' objections to your profession.

Right now I work at a factory job and the pay sucks! My family has never liked anything I have ever done so it wasnt too much of surprise. I was wanting to strip and save money to go back to school.

Tell your family straight up, I want to go back to school. I can't afford it on my current job. I need to get the ball rolling on my future. I need capital to do that, stripping will get me that capital. Present it as a stepping stone to something more acceptable. But ultimately, its you and your life. Not your parents. Do what’s necessary and to hell with anyone that's going to tell you its wrong.

You can listen to other people's opinions all day, but unless they are going to run your life for you, you have to do what needs to be done to live your life to the fullest.
