    Default New Rock / Metal

New Buckcherry tune, I haven't seen anyone mention it yet. It's rockin' and fun, but beware if you're not allowed liberal usage of the "F" word. Maybe we should just start a sticky thread for ALL new tunes, what's hot, etc...? What say you, almighty bowl of fuck master?

SOS is great for the club, upbeat and fun...BUT. You knew there was a but coming, right? Does the world need yet another song ripping off/covering "tainted love"? The Soft Cell version was a cover too. Anyhoo, yeah, good SC tune. I've got girlies fighting over it already.

PS: I like the Spiderbait remake, but it doesn't really sound right in some way to me the few times I have played it. Also, I hate playing 2 songs in a row by the same band, especially when they sound so similar. I've mentioned it before, but hey that's just me. I know a lot of girls like it, but it drives me f'n nuts. I feel like it's "TWO FOR TUESDAY" on some lameass classic rock station. endrant.

I fucking love Buckcherry--aren't they from Florida?

Great idea about the sticky thread, but thought we should have a sticky for each major genre, and it's done! This is a much better way of doing it than having them all mixed up, and people who only like certain genres can just go to that thread.

AinNYs thread has proven to be so popular I just made it the sticky, and the Sexy Music thread has resurrected itself so often, and produced such great ideas, that it was a natural, too.

There is, of course, no reason at all why new songs can't still have their own thread. Some of them deserve it, either because they kick ass, or because they suck monkey balls, lol...

Later--I just deleted the jazz sticky thread, though, since I doubt it would be popular enough to warrant it--and it could be included in Sexy Music, for that matter.

Speaking of remakes - don't forget Buckcherry's cover of 'Anything, Anything' - kicks the teeth out of the original!

I don't think I've heard that, I'll give it a listen. But I really liked Dramarama way back when...so I'm dubious. I shall report back after I find it.

New Rob Zombie song: "Foxy, Foxy". I am undecided on it, but will give it a couple more listens. The full album comes out March 28th.

New G n' R. Yes, you read that correctly. "I.R.S." is the title. Eh, it's better than I imagined it would be, but still....it doesn't rock my socks.

    This is good news, thanks...

I'll probably get it that day, lol--even though House of a Thousand Corpses was disappointing.

I'm in the same boat on this song... I don't dislike, but it's not a favorite. I'm hoping the rest of the album has some better songs.

    NICKLEBACK
Here's the review I posted on ED Forums. I know most of you know some of the stuff I posted; but just in case; here ya go:

    OH my God.
    So,they got a new drummer.
No, they got a new ATTITUDE.
Ignore the sappy; sounds-the-same-as-their-last-album songs like "Photograph" (I like it but; you know....) and check THESE babies out!!!NONE of these are slow except one.
Follow You Home--Recorded with Billy from ZZTopp (that's his guitar in the solo if you couldn't guess; and his low growly voice after) and the vocals Chad exibits reminds me of Cherone. Very good for club play (check out the lyrics....OOOOOh yeah)

Fight for All The Wrong Reasons--Great harmonies and rockin'; I love it for the lyrics ("It's kind of hard to leave when you're going down on me..."); if you have ever stayed with someone JUST for the sex this is your ANTHEM. Funny as hell.

Animals--same sorta theme; it's about two high school lovers being wild about sex and getting caught with their pants down...brings back memories ("then she said that's my dad outside the car!")

Savin' Me--(the slow one) this is supposedly Metallica-inspired; slower but heavy and again, I like the harmonies; could still get away with it in the club at the right time.

Next Contestant--IT"S ABOUT A STRIPPER so of course you have to listen and laugh. I HAVE to post these:
"I judge by what she's wearing
Just how many heads I'm tearing
Off of assholes coming on to her
Each night seems like it's getting worse
And I wish she'd take the night off
So I don't have to fight off
Every asshole coming on to her
It happens every night she works
They'll go and ask the DJ
Find out just what would she say
If they all tried coming on to her
Don't they know it's never going to work
They think they'll get inside her
With every drink they buy her
As they all try coming on to her
    This time somebody's getting hurt

    Here comes the next contestant

    [CHORUS]
Is that your hand on my girlfriend?
    Is that your hand?
I wish you'd do it again
I'll watch you leave here limping
I wish you'd do it again
I'll watch you leave here limping
    There goes the next contestant

    I even fear the ladies
They're cool but twice as crazy
Just as bad for coming on to her
Don't they know it's never going to work
Each time she bats an eyelash
    Somebody's grabbing her ass
Everyone is coming on to her
    This time somebody's getting hurt

    Here comes the next contestant

    [CHORUS]

    I'm hating what she's wearing
    Everybody here keeps staring
Can't wait 'til they get what they deserve
    This somebody's getting hurt

    Here comes the next contestant

    [CHORUS]
I wish you'd do it again
Each night seems like it's getting worse
I wish you'd do it again
    This somebody's getting hurt

    There goes the next contestant"

    Ya see?

Side Of A Bullet--ok; THIS one is the one that got my respect. Seems they have been hanging out with Pantera for awhile;and when Darryll was killed they wrote a song about it. KILLER KILLER KILLER. His (Dimebag's) brother gave them a guitar solo of his to use in the song; and N's drummer and guitarist stepped up to the task mightily. Sorry, I am unabashadly in LOVE with this song.

Someone That You're With--quite less heavy but fast; fun; and very energetic. Always good to try.

Rockstar--another good club song;about a girl who loves the band----a great bet!

There are only 3 other songs on the album; my girlfriend loves Far Away but I'm just not in the mood for it right now. First album in ages I will go out and get the WHOLE THING. If they don't get a Grammy I will be very dissapointed (even as rigged and stupid as the Grammys are...)

    Have fun darlin's!

Other stuff to see if you have:

    10 Years--Wasteland
    Dark New Day--Brother
Avenge Sevenfold--Bat Country (I'm sure you have this; but just in case)
Dust for Life--Step In To The Light (lead singer of Alice In Chains)
Fall Out Boy--Sugar We're Going Down (Ditto^^to having it already..)
    HIM---Wings Of A Butterfly
    My Chemical Romance--Ghost Of You
POD-Boom( Chemical Bros. Remix) (I know it's old but I just now got the remix ; so..)
    Shinedown--I Dare You
    Trapt--Stand Up (ditto 2 ^^)
AFI--Silver and Cold (a bit slow; but it caught my ear)
    Crossfade--Colors (again; just checking)
    Living Things--Bom Bom Bom
Flyleaf--I'm So Sick (BRAND NEW--a bit slow but cool)
Fort Minor--Remember The Name (lead singer of Linkin Park; maybe call this rap?up to you)

I seem to like everything Tommy Lee does; I'm just wierd that way. His album has been out for a bit; just thought I'd reccommend "Good Times" 'cause I like it. You may not...

    I'll add more later.

The new-ish Rammstein album "Rosenrot" is pretty rockin', if you like the stompy grrrr germans. There's actually a song in SPANISH. "Tu Queiro Puta!". it's rammstein but with crazy flamenco horns and spanish lyrics. It makes me chuckle. There's also a female singer on a few tracks, which is pretty groovy.

Also, The new Zombie cd "Educated horses"......eh. I'm not terribly impressed. "American Witch" and "Let It All Bleed Out" are pretty good tracks, but the album has this overall classic rock/almost country-ish vibe in places. I saw him in NYC Tuesday night and the show was kickass, but yeah....I'm not overly excited about the cd.

I've had the Rosenrot cd for a bit now, Tu Quiro Puta is the most played track on it, I actually looked up the lyrics before I gave it over to my fellow djs

The new Zombie sucks, it seems Mr. Zombie is either getting old or gettin laid too much.
I'm waitin for the new Lacuna Coil to drop so I can grab that, actually I'm waiting for my promo cd to get here from Century Media so I can get it into the clubs, lol

Lacuna Coil blew goats, btw. I was thoroughly unimpressed. The best thing they did was a cover of DM's "Enjoy The Silence". The first single off the new cd sounded okay, too. But overall they were really cheesy with their synchronized headbanging and such. If the girl wasn't hot I would've gone to the bar after about 2 songs.

I picked up the new Lacuna Coil "KarmaCode" at Target for 7.98 today. It's better than they were live, but I still don't like the male singer's voice. "fragile" is pretty good, the single "our truth" aint bad, but my vote for best track so far still goes to the remake of "enjoy the silence" that they did at the show. And that is the last track on the cd, so hey, bonus. I'll give it another listen on the way in to work tomorrow, I just skimmed it today. What are your thoughts, Blade?

It's typical Lacuna Coil, which in my book makes it rock
