Ok, so I am a sunless tanning newbie. I have always tanned in a sunbed and have never used any sunless tanning products.
Can someone give me a sunless tanning 101 lesson. Like everything from exfoliating to secrete tips etc

exfoliate with any type of body exfoliant then use lotion all over let dry then use the tanner i use fake bake its awsome looks like motor oil when applied but it washes off and lookes great i think it workes better when you allow it to be on like 8 hours....

What about your more sensitive areas? I hate tan lines if you know what I mean.
I've written a lot about this subject (do a search), and there is a ton of info on sunless.com

^ I agree with Em. I love Sunless.com!

I really like the nuetrogena foam (I got it in the three peice set) I thought it had good color and was easy to put on.
I just ordered a build a tan from nuetrogena and I will tell you how it goes. I wanted a really dark tan so I figured build a tan might help.
I've heard Mystic Tan is awesome but haven't tried it yet..

coppertone's endless summer works really well.
the Mystic Tan ROCKS!!! I do it every week. It costs about $20, but you get an even and dark tan in like, two minutes. You can even request different settings. I always get the highest one, and I look totally AFRICAN for the rest of the day, but it kind of fades the next day after I shower.Originally Posted by exotisch23

Does anyone have a problem with the self tanner smell? It seems like no matter what type I use I still smell it until it's faded away. Other people have told me to try certain types and that they won't smell it but I always do!! Help!! I even bought a special body spray at the tanning salon made specifically to get rid of the smell (not mask but get rid of it)... didn't work either. I have one of those spray jet tan systems and I love the tan but hate the smell. Anyone have this problem or have any sollutions??
I dont' think you can avoid the smell since it's the DHA that stinks, and that's in all the tanners.
There is no solution, except to smell like old coins.![]()

^Haha...never heard of it that way.
Someone: "Man, what's that smell?"
You: "Oh, it's me. I did my sunless tan today...it comes standard with the "coin collection" smell!"
I'm going to try out Mystic sometime, so we'll see how that goes.
Well maybe I can give up the beds once we all are addicted to sunless and we use it so frequently we don't smell it anymore...
...We'll see.
i prefer an airbrush to a spray on. same concept but more detailed, real looking results IMO
Don't give me lip! I'm bigger than you!

I dont know where you live but in Manhatten I know someone who does airbrush tanning. Its amazing!! It looks real, no streaks, no smell and does not rub off on clothing even when you sweat. The down side is that its expensive- about $80 per tan that lasts about a week and a half. I get it done once a month in the summer- so worth it!!
i just had a spray tan done about half an hour ago, and it looks fantastic. i used to use a tanning bed 2-3 times a week, but i've started just using a tanning bed once a week to hold a base colour, and getting spray tanned every thursday - and i love it.
i moisturise every morning and night and drink heaps of water, and when i want it to come off i use a loofah with an exfoliating scrub. because i moisturise so much i never get that yucky scaly look that you can get with fake tans.
