Default Is excersizing this way good, or bad.

If I have an aroebics class for 60 min in the morning twice a week, can I do cardio for another 60 at night on the same nights, and call this my recommended 4 times of cardio a week, or would this actually be bad? Could I lose fat this way? Are you supposed to space out the days? I don't even know what I'm asking anymore. Its late and I've been up since 5:30 am. If you can make sense of the question, please answer.

it will be hard on your body, especially knees, to do 2 60 min aerobics classes in one day. It would be better to do them 3x a week and let your body recver in between.

If you want to work out more, I would suggest hitting the weights and doing some yoga or pilates to mix things up. I wouldn't do more cardio on the same day... do cardio 3-5 days a week, but not twice a day.

A personal trainer friend of mine told me a long time ago that more than 45 minutes of cardio a day is counterproductive. However, I'm not sure if she ment all at the same time or not... To tell you the truth I'm not sure if spacing it out throughout the day is counterproductive or not... But what I do know is that if I do an hour of cardio a day and then go to the gym the next day I can't do as much. To get all my hours in that I like and don't feel exhausted I do 30 minutes intense cardio a day, sometimes I do an hour if I've eaten like shit. This also helps to boost your metabolism every day that you work out and therefor burn more calories.

It depends on the intensity of your aerobic/cardio sessions. I think if they are relatively low instensity sessions (walking, biking, etc.) that 60 minutes would be fine. If you do higher intensity sessions (running) I would trim your PM session to about 20-30 minutes max otherwise you'll go into muscle burning. Anytime I do cardio 2X a day my metabolism goes through the roof! Just be sure your feeding your body properly. You may even want to bump up your caloric intake slightly. Don't worry though, you'll be a fat burning machine and very fit!

what lola lee said! It all depends on the type of cardio you do. My trainer has me do 40 minutes of high intensity cardio 3 times/week, 30 minutes full body weight training twice a week, and pilates/yoga in the evenings 3 times/week, my choice of days. This keeps my metabolism up and I eat 1800 calories/day-this is to lose 1-2 lbs/week!

I don't know, a lot of fitness competitors double up on the cardio before shows or competitions. Maybe Will or AlphaMale could tell us?

    This is correct.

Your body will begin to cannibalize its own muscle proteins after an hour of higher intensity exercise, some of which can be delayed by consuming protein and/or amino acid complexes prior to working out. However, more than an hour of exercise tends to cause overtraining, which is hard on your joints and ligaments, nevermind ultimately counterproductive to your training goals.

You can still loose fat also by switching up your cardio routine so your body doesnt get used to a certain thing. Such as today I did eliptical and rowing machine for 40min. Or you can do running and stair-climbing.

Cardio is a tool just like everything else. For example if I told you to do push ups everyday soon your body gets use to it & it does not work like it once did.One thing I use to tell my clients was ALL long distance runners look like they are sick. They do not look healthy because they over do the cardio.Look @ a sprinter, they still have lean muscle. They run short bursts over and over. When I am looking to lose as much fat as possible I do 20-30 min of cardio first thing in the mornning on a empty stomach. Then you want to eat a healthy breakfast. For a woman 25g protein,40g carbs & small peice of fruit.

don't forgot to incorporate weight training into your routine because you cannot change the way your body looks by cardio alone. Trust me I've tried & ended up with smaller boobies.
