Default I'll try not to hyperventilate...

Okay so here's the story. I'm pretty new to these boards, though I have been chatting with a couple of the members from the sydney area (KittenCaboodle and Keira thanks so much!) and they have been so much help.

Anywho, I'm not a stripper yet, just a lingerie waitress but my agency rang me a few weeks ago and asked if I wanted to be in a wet tshirt competition. it's $50 for everyone who enters so I thought what the hell. Why not?? So I signed myself up and didn't think that much more about it.

So last night I went out to the venue to watch the 1st heat just to get a feel for what I have to do next week when I get on stage. All the girls at the agency said was to get on stage, get wet and prance around for about 1 song. Sounded easy enough.
Anyway I go to the venue, sat down to watch and OH MY GOODNESS!! The girls who got up there were so freakin' gorgeous and were fab dances to boot! They were tearing up the stage (one at a time) and just being downright amazing. They were doing all these great moves and just looked so relaxed with it!
Turns out you have to DANCE for 1-2 songs - not just prance!!
Meanwhile I'm sitting at this table sculling down my vodka and coke without even realising it thinking "holy cow, how the HECK am I going to do THAT?!"

One of the girls from my work was there and I ran up to her and was like "dude I can't do that!! I can't dance! I've never been on stage or anything before!"
She was super nice and told me I'd be fine, that it would be fun.
Okay, I'm sure it'll be super fun but I'm sort of freaking out too!! Haha, I mean, I want to do it soooo badly and when I dance at home I'm fine but I'm just not sure how I'm going to get up in front of a pub full of people and work it.

Anyway sorry to drag on and on and on but I really just need some friendly support!! How did you guys all feel before you got up on stage for the first time?? Did you want to vomit? Cos I think I kinda do...
I'm sorta glad in a way cos I so so so want to get into stripping and I think this would be a great way to do my first dance (no need to worry about paying customers not getting what they want - it's free entry and no need to worry about tipping.)
    I'm just so scared!
Also I think I'm gonna do it barefoot. I know ppl don't reccommend it cos legs don't look as long without stelletos etc. but they put down like a big plastic sheet to stop the stage getting wet (there's a LOT of water getting poured on you) and I would be SO worried I'd slip out of my shoes. I'd be so embarrassed if I hit a wet patch and flew out of my heels.
Also, I'm gonna get a whole lots friends to come down and cheer me on. I think that'll make it a bit better. I'm not intent on winning, I just want to get up there and do it. I just want to have fun!!

So yeah, I'm rambling. I'm not even gonna go back and read all that! But yeah, any advice, support, words of wisdom would be fantastic.

    Thanks you guys!

Good luck!! Just go out there and have fun with it. Don't take the contest too seriously- it sounds like it is meant to be just for fun, so just have fun. Don't worry if you don't know how to dance, just go out there and do your thing.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.

I don't have much dancing experience, but when I did I was very very scared and felt like a total dumbass. I had no idea what to do. The tips didn't reflect that though so maybe I did okay

Its good to watch other girls and see what they're doing. You gotta start somewhere!! Just get up there and have fun!

    hehe, thanks guys!
Also, Guenevere the stage I'm dancing on is covered in a big plastic rug (to stop the floor getting wet) so it's not as if my feet'll get dirty. Also, there'll be so much water on the ground I'm sure they'll end up more clean by the end then when I started!
I don't think the other girls will get upset because it's just a pub - not a SC. They're all just there to compete like me, none of them work there. Another girl danced barefoot the other night when I went to watch (she almost slipped in the water so kicked off her shoes.) I thought it looked fine - at least she didn't get her shoes wet....!
