    Default Do you smile??

Last night, I noticed that alot of the dancers do not smile. Whether they are on stage performing, or hustling a customer to get a dance. When I sit with a customer, or dance on stage, I smile alot.

Actually alot of people are like "Dam you're teeth are white as this shirt!" It's weird, my teeth are white and they have this crazy white glow to them.

Anyway, while at work, do you smile, or just keep a straight face? For me, smiling seems to help me sell dances. I come across more friendly than the other girls. And customers can sense that I like what I do.

    absolutely.

it kinda irks me when girls are on stage and they have that deadserious/boredshitless look on their face. and when they are being tipped they don't even acknowledge the guy, they're too busy checking themselves out in the mirror. ugh.

I try to smile a lot. For one thing, it helps convince customers that I'm having a good time and enjoying my job (and therefore, by extension, enjoying them). I've had plenty of customers comment on how much I smile and how happy I seem when I'm on stage compared to many of the other girls.

For another, there's also the fact that how you act effects how you feel, the same as how you feel effects how you act (that's one of the foundations of method acting). If I keep my chin up and keep smiling, it improves my mood. And positivity is infectious -- make your customers happy, and they'll be happy to keep spending money on you, either now or in the future.

At my club, the customer has to lay their money on the stage (they don't allow them to touch us). When the dancers stage set is over, they don't smile, or even say thankyou. I think it's so wrong that show absolutely no appreciation for the customer.

I always try to smile a lot when I am on stage. And, I try to make eye contact with people and smile at them when they lay tips on the stage or come to sit down at the rail. I also try to encourage the guys sitting at the stage or rail to smile, which seems to amuse both them and the other patrons.

Many guys seem to be pleased when I smile during lapdances as well.

I really dislike it when girls are on stage and just look bored. How can you encourage someone to buy a dance or drink from/for you, if you aren't pleased about what you are doing?

I always have a silly grin stuck to my face. Customers always comment on my dazzling smile and how nice my teeth are. Funnily enough I have crooked teeth and always have to stop myself from pointing this out. I also often get the comment that I look like I'm enjoying myself.
I'm not sure if this converts to money because I know a lot of guys like the girls who seem unapproachable or unattainable. I've even had guys say to me about a girl looking like a bithch and I'm gunna get a dance from her just to show her. HUH?!?
But anyway it doesn't matter to me because i do like being there whether I'm making millions or not (usually not)

I smile alot too! If you don't smile, you don't love what you do, having a good time, or you have ugly teeth. That's the impression I get.

I'm Giggly McSmiles all night. Haha, I'm actually a little hard of hearing (have been my whole life), and in the club atmosphere, especially with the mind-blowing amount of Asian customers I have (it must be the area and the hotels...no joke 75% of my earnings are off asian dudes) I can hardly understand our conversations sometimes. So smiling, nodding, laughing somewhat appropriately...it allows me to get away with it. Works in my favour- plus, it seriously does make me happier. Spooky how that works. AND helps me get along great with staff- if you're not being snotty, but just genuinely, mind-your-own-beeswax happy go lucky, it's hard to make enemies.

I USUALLY smile and giggle during my act, but if Im doing a Goth/hardcore show I yell and do the whole "pissed off emo chik" look.

I smile most of the time when I'm on stage and make lots of eye contact. I try to make customers smile at the same time when I dance, it's much more fun that way! If customers don't smile, I usually yell at them something along the lines of "You're a miserable F8cking bunch arn't you?!" or I make crazy smiling gesturesat them to smile and I'll work on them that way both of which tend to work for me.

Absolutely you should be smiling! After all, why would a customer want to buy something as intimate as a lap dance from someone who, herself, doesn't look like she is having fun?

absolutely.... who wants to get a dance from a girl with a frown on her face... if she feels that way while at work, she probably won't give a good dance....

From the perpsective of one customer, every one of you has it right. It amazes me how many dancers out there don't smile, don't make eye contact. Maybe they're worried, scared, or bored, I don't know, but if they don't project the sense that they can be entertaining, it kills the chemistry that gets this customer excited.

It's funny that a large percent of the girls in my club really don't know how to carry themselves onstage or with customers. Everybody looks mad and pissed, confused like a deer in headlights, or stuck up like their the sh--.

I, however, like many of the women here adopt the hella-smile routine. It's definitely a show. I'll get onstage and wink, smile, blow kisses, stick my tongue out, flip my hair, wave, make funny faces, stretch... the list is endless. I'm just doing everything the other girls aren't and I do it in a playful, sexy, come hither way. I've been called refreshing, the comedian of the club, the down-to-earth one, the nice girl that's easy to talk to, and the sexiest woman alive (to name a few) -- whatever as long as it equates to bucks AND IT USUALLY DOES.

The key is not to overact because it doesn't look genuine. Guys are quick to point out the phony girls in the club and you definitely don't want to be one of those. Why not pretend like you've won the lottery and approach customers with that ear-to-ear smile. They'll want to know why you're so happy, it's contagious everyone will want a piece.

Oh man, I never actually thought of this... I come from a ballet background (haven't started dancing yet though) and was always taught to make your face an extension of your 'character' which meant not smiling. However, I can't imagine buying a dance off of someonewho looks unfriendly. Thanks for bringing this up CK

The "I'm a little shy" smile works really well for me on stage If someone whistles i look at him smile then look down and away. I knew a girl who blushed all the time and it was the sweetest , sexiest thing.

Oh, and don't even get me started on the girls who like to roll their eyes when they get turned away. Trust me, there is ALWAYS someone watching

I always said a smile can get you more. I made a thread about this too, but I can't find it. Search doesn't let me find old threads from way back.

OK, I admit, it took me a while to figure out how helpful it is to smile. Like another poster, I'm from a ballet background, where a calm, neutral face is usually encouraged. Also, I was very self-concious about my dancing at first (well, still am a little bit, but it's getting better) and was probably always staring at my feet with a scared look. And I wondered why I never got tipped on stage...

Now that I know what a huge difference it makes, I try to remember to smile, although I think a permanent grin can start to look a little forced, so I mix it up with a turned-on face, a naughty face, and so on. I think a lot of us forget to use our faces on stage, even though the face is one place almost everyone looks when trying to sum another person up. A bored-looking dancer on stage can bring down the energy in the whole room.

I smile, and lately I've been doing something that seems to have improved my take considerably -- making silly/growly faces while shaking my head around at the customers, say, during a slow moment in a stage set.

I swear, this works for me really well. I think it's because it brings out the playful and audacious look. :-)

I can't help but smile.Maybe it's because I'm basically having a good time for the most part(it is a social situation) or maybe it's just being in character.I find it difficult to keep a straight face...and I think it's so unattractive when girls have the bored, distracted stripperface...You all know what I'm talkin about girls !
