Default Lawsuit against Tens Cabaret in NY

Did anyone in NY know about this?

Tens is being sued by the attorney general's office re. house fees. apparently if the AG's office wins--no club in NYC can charge house fees and dancers that participate in the lawsuit may get the $ back.

I dont know all the specifics and Ive been trying to find some more articles about it but no luck yet.

This something to definitly think about....I've always felt that charging us to work is wrong.
I'm getting my Dial-A-Stripper service up and running again. If you are in NYC or NJ and are interested in private party dancing, email [email protected] with your SW handle, contact info, photo (if you have one) & best time to call and I'll get back to you asap.

If you're having a party and need strippers, email me with the details and any questions you have. Thanks!

I haven't heard of this news yet but its interesting, especially since I put in many years there. I will look out for more news on that. I agree with suing these clubs out here for charging these obscene house fees. Some places you need to pay up to $300! Sometimes you can't even make that until 1am, leaving, at most, 3 hours to make a profit!

Any idea on how long into the past this lawsuit may go?
I can't bear to think about how much I paid to that club, including the required 'tips'. Like the required 'tip' to the makeup artist (different person than the housemom) even if I didn't use her services (which she charged for) or products. Since when should you ever pay someone for a service you don't choose to buy? Normally, as much, if not more than I took home.
What if, hypothetically, I didn't report my Tens income on my taxes?

PS-how do I use spell check here?

Coming back from San Francisco, where there have been numerous lawsuits of this nature - certain dancers were able to get their housefees back to the tune of thousands of dollars, but, the end result has been that clubs have raised their fees.

In the environment of New York with the recent indictment of Scores, I think this lawsuit will prompt even more interest in the unreported income of strippers in New York.

Most likely the dancers will win in this case. I've seen a few of these lawsuits over the years, and the dancers always win. The clubs always continue to charge house fees even after the losing the lawsuit.

The clubs know what they are doing is illegal, but they make so much money off the dancers that they can't afford to give up the income (or don't want to). As long as dancers keep coming to work, the clubs will keep charging house fees.

If you get in on the lawsuit, you shoudl be able to make some money back if you worked at this club. Just don't ever expect to be able to dance there again. The clubs just see it as a chance they are willing to take to get the money from the dancers.

    hey girls

yeah, this lawsuit would actually effect everyone who ever worked there, or so i hear from one friend who was one of the few that gave an affadavit to the attorney general.

so we'd all be entitled to all the damn money we paid to ten's, not just those dancers who testified.

we'll be covering it in $pread magazine when the decision gets made! ()

haha thats awesome because I worked there 2 years ago. Tens seems to be theclub that gets faced with all the lawsuits. I remember hearing stories of some girl breaking her ankle there and thats why the clear high plastic stripper shoes are not allowed, because she sued.

I always thought the house fees were ridiculous! The club owners are destroying this business - enormous house fees, inflated admission prices, $10 beers, etc. I wish all you dancers would pool your money together, then own and operate your own club! And set things straight.

    Build and they will come!!!

When someone sues Penthouse Executive Club, PM me.

I remember reading about the lawsuits at Mitchell Brothers in San Francisco, and that was just when house fees were about $20 a night. Now fees at Mitchell Brothers are several hundred a night and it's well known as a place to get just about everything on the menu from very hot girls. How did that happen?
