    Default Permanent Makeup?

Hi everyone, I am getting ready to have my eyeliner done in a couple weeks, I really want dramatic eyes. I was wondering if anyone of you has ever had the permanent makeup done. What was the experience like? I know for the eyeliner, they do apply a local anesthetic, but they said there will still be some mild discomfort, so I am trying to understand what to expect. Also, what are the results like after months or years. Thanks

i had it done... i never got the damn touchup b/c i am so busy.

I had the eyeliner and eyebrows done. The color on my brows and lower lids are completely gone. Some on the upper lid still, but faded.

I was told the healthier your skin is, the harder it is for the permanent makeup to stay. I guess that is good news.... bad news is i spent 500 bucks to find out. Of course it is also my fault I didn't go back for a touch up. I think I have a problem with the needle being that close to my eye.

I agree with Tampa I have gotten my eyebrows tattooed twice (different years) along with the touch-ups and my eyebrows are completely gone as well. So really in my opinion it's not worth it.

My gram has hers done and she went in for only one touchup in the last 2 years and hers look great still. Make sure they are using a good quality ink, preferably go thru a salon that has more than 1 year experience doing facial/ cosmetic work. There are a lot of them in AZ; I'm not sure where you are so can't help much more. Maybe I can email my gram and ask her who did her's as they are still nice. OR ask around at your good local tatt shops and see who they'd recommend.

Had mine done about 10 months ago. I LOVE it! Saves me time and I wake up with brows and eyes! I got my complimentry touch up 6 weeks after my initial procedure for those spots that wouldn't take.

It's not a pleasant process, but it's not horrible either. You'll be really sore a day or two afterwards, and the swelling can take up to 3 days to calm down. Make sure you gently ice the area after your enhancement and keep it moist with patroleum jelly. If you 're not religious about keeping the area wet, the ink just falls off and more touch up work will be needed. Clean it with warm water and ask which anti biotic ointment is safe for eye and fresh ink. The anti-bi should only be used twice a day for just a couple of days after your lids are done.

    How dramatic are you going?

I don't think getting anything too dramatic would be wise....what happens when you get older and don't want a dramatic look anymore??

I wish I knew how to post a picture on here as I have a picture of exactly what I want done. I want a smudged, smokey eyes look that will give a more slanted, almond shape to my eyes. I know the tattoo eventually fades off, so i'm not too worried about it staying on into my older years. I live in Colorado, and the lady that's doing mine says she's been doing it forever, about six years and she works in cosmetic surgery office so hopefully she knows what she's doing, but it worries me that the permanent makeup people don't need a license or anything, especially when working with a needle so close to your eye.

Phedre, how do you tell if they are using good quality ink, I should probably do more research, but I was so excited about having it done, I didn't think about all the technical stuff, plus I'm so lazy. Mia M, u said it is not a pleasant process..like..um what exactly does it feel like, did they use a local anesthetic for your eyes? I have the lowest pain threshold, and I want to know in all honesty how bad it hurts, so I'll decide if I should smoke something before going in.

Who are you going to? I'm in Denver. I went to Ali McCoy

She used a local topical anesthetic on me. Since it's psuedo safe for the eye area (not the eye ball itself, it can give you a corneal abrasion. If you feel like you have sand in your eye when she applys the anesthetic, you need to tell her IMMEDIATELY) it only numbs for an hour or so. I felt pressure (duh) and, eventually, an anoying pinching sensation.

You may want to consider a lash enhancement instead of a smokey look. That can be rather difficult to achieve and although the ink will fade, it dosen't exactly wear off to unnoticable on most people. It is, afterall, a tattoo. Think faded greenish navy tats, now imagine that around your eyes... and you're 65.

Yes, my brows look very natural. People are genuinely surprised when I tell them they're permanent.

It all really depends on who you go to. My gal had me choose my color in advance and tested it on my scalp. When I came in for my proceedure, she had me dray in my brows like I normally do, then she used the hair line stroke technique, where they tat in each individual hair.

On her wesite, there's one particularly scary pair of brows. You have to realize that it's the customers preference and not the artists tastes being showcased. I think there's even a sidebar that says something to the effect of it was the customers request. I've seen two other people with brows by Ali and they're fabulous.

    Thx for the reply.

I was wondering bc someone told me that it can look good if you have brows already. That it will make your brows look perfect. I have enough hair, but I brush my brows with a brown mascara bc those hairs don't stay in place.

I like the last eye brows, those look natural. And I love the eye liner too, I thought that would be thick. Looks good.

The lady I'm going to is in Longmont Center of Cosmetic Surgery. I acutally extended my appointment because I want to check out thise Ali McCoy lady that u recommeded. As the days grew closer to my app, I started getting nervous. By the way what is the lash enhancement u speak of? Does it produce the same sultry effect as the eyeliner. Mia M, since u are in Denver I might as well ask you this, I am also planning for a liposuction, I have one surgeon in mind that I am particularly interested in, Dr. Chapman in Fort Collins, do u know anyone who's had the procedure done with good results and which surgeon they went to. Thanks for being so helpful.

Say, for instance, that I had a nice thin line of eyeliner inked on to my top and bottom lids... would it be possible to use more eyeliner of my own on nights that i want to go for real dramatic thick eyeliner eyes as well? Is it ok to use makeup on top of the ink sometimes?

A lash enhancement is where she colors in right at the base of the lashes. The result is thicker, fuller looking lashes which give your eyes nice definition without a hard line. I had my upper lash line done since I only sometimes line my lowers. Check out the website I posted earlier, Ali shows examples of lash enhancement.

As far as lipo is concerned, I know of only one person who's done it and she used Dr.Squires in Cherry Creek. She was very happy with her results. I've been looking at BA proceedures and have really liked the work of Dr. Gregory Buford. He's apparently "THE MAN" if you wanna do any type of cosmetic procedure below the neck...

Silky- yes, it's perfectly safe to use eye makeup on top of permanent cosmetic AFTER you're completely healed (which takes about 2 weeks). When I go to work, I pile on eyeliner like a drag queen!
