    List of AZ laws?

    Hi y'all.

I'm looking for a definitive list of AZ dancing laws (stage and lapdance). I get the feeling that sometimes the managers aren't 100% sure about what will get a girl locked up.

Along these lines, any news on the Jenna/Babe's/Scottsdale deal? I work at Skin every so often, but I'm not really sure what's going on over there. There was a thread a while ago, but I'm looking for an update.

However, what is written as a law and what the managers "enforce" are two totally separate things. In Phoenix, the club manager is not legally responsible for monitoring erotic dance performances. Therefore neither he nor the club risk a ticket if one (or more) dancers do not follow code.

There won't be any headlines about Scottsdale until the issue goes to court again. Your best bet is to stop in and see for yourself.

Exactly... There's very much an attitude in the clubs here that you just don't want to get too crazy with the dances so you don't kill your coworkers' earning potential. Mention of actual law, however, is scarce since it's no slack off the manager's back if you get busted.

    Thanks for the resource!

Skin is the same as it was five months ago, a tiny bit slower, but not bad. Nothing has changed as of yet.

SCOTTSDALE - Scottsdale leaders will fight Babe's Cabaret at the polls on Sept. 12, but they may have to send through a liquor license transfer for adult film star Jenna Jameson on Tuesday.

Scottsdale police and other city officials have spent nearly six months looking for dirt on Jameson and the three other new co-owners of Babe's, hoping the city could recommend a "denial" on the license transfer to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses & Control.

A staff report for Tuesday's Scottsdale City Council meeting states that the owners listed on the license application "satisfy the state criteria of being capable, reliable and qualified."

The council has the option of sending a "no recommendation" to the state board.

Council members in December imposed regulations on Scottsdale's two adult clubs that are so strict the club owners said they would be forced to close. The clubs quickly gathered enough signatures to force a referendum on the Sept. 12 primary election ballot.

City officials also have spent months researching the status of fees they impose on developers for water, sewer and other infrastructure costs that bear on the city.

Fees for water and sewer will rise in all areas, although they will drop for some sewer costs in areas south of Shea Boulevard.

As far as Phoenix goes, if you go down to City Hall to apply for the license, they'll give you a pamphlet with local laws. City laws are generally more strict than state laws where contact is concerned, so you should be safe if you follow city code.
