    Default 10 Foods To Improve Your Looks!!!!!!!!!

    1.) Water....drink plenty of it...makes skin look soft and supple when it's hydrated.

    2.)Vitamin C- keeps the immune system strong and promotes the production of collagen.....foods with Vit C include all citrus fruits, strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli, and cabbage

    3.)Green Tea- rich in anti-oxidants to combat cancer producing free radicals, a great way to try it is to replace your morning cup o joe and have it with NO cream or sugar (if you absolutely HATE the taste without cream or sugar, try using Splenda in it)

    4.)Soy- rich in amino acids, Vitamin E and anti-oxidants, helps to smooth out skins appearance, retain moisture, and improve elasticity

    5.)Essential Fatty Acids- such as Omega 3 and Omega 6 which are known as "good fats" which help in cellular functioning. This helps skin, hair, nails, muscles, practically ANYTHING involving your physical appearance. Helps to clear up skin, improve elasticity, reduce wrinkles and improve hair condition and nail growth!!!!!!

    6.)Milk.....need I say more about it (strong bones/teeth) also helps with red blood cell growth so much needed oxygen can be transported.....which means healthier/livlier skin and hair!

    8.)Yogurt- contains friendly bacteria which aids in digestion (yes girls, it helps keep you regular!!!!) it improves the immune system and helps hydrate and cleanse the skin!! (and for those with frequent yeast infections, it helps reduce those too!!!!)

    Out of the above, the soy is the only thing I really don't have regularly... or even use in re: my looks. The dark chocolate I knew about for awhile now due to the flavnoid antioxidant (I think that spelt right) within it that 'normal' and milk chocolate doesn't contain.

    BTW, Green Tea with sugar in it.. yuck! It's an acquired taste granted however best to have by itself. If you really can't stand green tea, a nice cup of 'normal' (black) tea will work to a certain degree.

    Oh.. Ginger... someone mentioned that Ginger is a great thing to use for immunity and anti-aging to me awhile ago too.

    All of those are really good suggestions apart from the milk ... skip the milk (dairy in general ) , causes more problems than benefits for most people .

    salmon! It also helps combat depression (especially good for post partum depression), plus it's got those ever so important Omega's! you should try to eat a helping of salmon 3 times a week...I buy salmon patties at costco, they are cheap and REALLY easy to cook..just grill em up with a little teriaki sauce..YUMM!

    ^ Good for me or not, I won't ever turn down a glass of good old Texas sweet tea! I don't want to brag (lol), but I can make it with the best of 'em! I like green tea, too, though.

    Sassy- The idea of a salmon "patty" sounds a little scary, but I'll have to find those and give them a try.

    On the ginger..A a good way to eat it is like you do when you get it with sushi. Buy it by itself in this form and have a few slices after each meal. Helps with digestion and fresh breath after dinner AND you are getting it in a pure form.


    Cranberry juice...I do the fat flush plan thing with this; 1 cup UNSWEETENED cranberry juice to 64 oz water; try to drink ALL this in 24 hours.

    Green tea...I love tea in general and don't drink coffee. Treat yourself sometime and learn how to prepare tea correctly.

    The patti's are soo good! It's just salmon pressed into a circle so you can grill it and have it on a bun (they make good "burgers"). I just put them in a pan and pour terikaki sauce on them..5 minutes on one side, 4 minutes on the other..cooked perfectly! Then I take it and shred it with a fork and put it on some sticky rice with baby corns and other various "stir fry" stuff.

    The pack is called "premium alaskan salmon burgers" it's in the frozen food section. You get 12 of them for like $10. Makes for really quick and super healthy lunches and dinners! And for the most part they don't seem to reek of salmon like salmon fillets usually do.

    You can get raw chocolate which is basically the raw cocoa bean.

    You get them peeled, so they're in nibs, the fat is raw, and you can mix it with dates or

    whatever youwant. It's been my lastest trip, and this way, it doesn't even have to be in small amouts!!!

    For me, it's really awsome, listed as a top 5 superfood. Have a read about it on this

    Splenda is actually dangerous . . . they approved it before actually doing enough studies to figure out the health effects, and I know someone who developed stomach paralysis from using it! It will affect some people badly and not others, but I've decided it's best not to take chances.

    As for green tea, if you want something that tastes yummier than plain green tea, try jasmine green tea.

    Also, if it's super-bitter, you're either brewing it too hot or too long -- try watering it down some.

    Whether milk is good or bad for you depends on the person. I seem to do really well with it; my partner, on the other hand, is allergic, and a lot of people are lactose intolerant.

    But then a lot of foods are like that. People are often very different in their dietary needs! Use your instincts.

    The Splenda...really?? I've been using that sweetner forever now.

    Anyone know of any good salmon & chicken breast recipes? I'm so sick of having them the same way.

    Also my green tea...dang, I know i've been drinking it wrong but I rather drink it the way I do than coffee. I put Splenda and Cremora(instant powder creamer) in it.

    Well, as with aspartame and all the other fake sweetners, I think there is always gunna be a bad side......you can't try and fake sugar and have an ultimate good outcome. BUT when used in moderation (Like one packet a day) I'm sure you'll be fine. They proved with aspartame that in order for it to cause the problems that it causes a human would have to ingest like 30 cans of pop a day! (They had given the rats that they tested way too much and when they went back and looked at it, they realized it!) So you should be fine!

    Exactly. You would have to consume MASSIVE amounts for it to be harmful.

    As far as foods that are good for you: avocado. Makes your skin and hair shiny!

    For a great salmon recipe, I broil it with extra virgin olive oil and whatever fresh herbs I have in the house (rosemary is my fave for this) and I make a port wine reduction to dribble on it. Take port wine (not those cooking wines you get in the supermarkets...use real wine) and boil it down to a thick syrup. I add shallots that I sauteed in olive oil for flavor and some parsley. You can use a pat of butter to finish it, if it's allowed on your diet.

    Drizzle this over the salmon and it's yummy!!!

    Yuck! I hate fake sweetners! I'm really sensitive to stuff like that..(especially msg), I get monster migraines.

    Instead of fake sweetners that could and have done harm, why don't you just use honey or unrefined sugar? You can get "real" sugar..straight from the cane. You can get it in a liquid form (pressed from the cane) or "dried" (for lack of a better word), maybe I should say granulated, but it's not refined into white sugar, so it's not bad and it's not a chemical...plus it tastes WAY better than that chemical crap! lol

    what other food has the omega whatchacallits? besides salmon? i never have been too much into salmon or other fish but maybe i will try those patties you mentioned, summer. especially if they don't smell so fishy.

    I'm not crazy about salmon like I am with chicken, unless the salmon is cooked with some good herbs/spices or in sushi rolls.

    And I hate canned tuna, my God...ugh. But someone told me that I should get the dry tuna that comes in a bag and put a little lemon and mix it with brown mustard. Gotta try that one too.

    i love tuna in the can....so it looks like it's mostly just fish and tofu that has it? oh well i guess i'll eat even more tuna but i'm sure i'm canceling something out and making it not-so-good-for-me when i drown it in all that mayo.

    This would be good for people who are not sensitive to sugar or those not on low carb diets. For me, it would be a disaster, being hypoglycemic.

    those omega 3 and 6 EFAs can be found in pill form I do believe, for those who aren't particularly found of salmon!
