hey Yekhefah im going on vacation to san diego & l.a. in a few weeks (hopefully sooner-i need a break) so maybe I can stop by and have you give me a bunch of lap dances! If that's okay with u, just let me know![]()
Man- if I didn't know you were cute, I'd be trying to think of a delicate way to say "maybe you're fat". But you're not, your gorgeous, I've seen the pics! So I don't know. I've never even heard of a situation where a whole city got as tight on hiring as what you're describing.
It sounds like anywhere would be better than LA...if you put a flight on your credit card to somewhere that is more or less certain to make at least decent money, you could pay yourself back the first night. I don't know where would be best...again, it sounds like anywhere but there.
Good luck-
Feature costumes for sale!

Yekhefah, that sucks. It shouldn't be so hard to find work as a stripper. When I started dancing I was completely broke and in a ton of debt. A friend wired me money to take the train to Albuquerque where she was dancing and making great money.
Do you have a friend, (dancer or not) that lives in a city known for having good or at least money making clubs? Someone you could stay with for a week or so just while you dance and get back on your feet?
Oh, I know! I've called almost all of them lately.Originally Posted by london

...Sorry. My regular job is in the industry and we all joke that extras have no idea they have the worst job on the entire production. Heh heh. When I can find film work, I'd rather do my job than work background for $54/day!
That's tempting, but damn, that drive to and from Anaheim was murder last night!Originally Posted by number99

Yeah... thing is though, I had to pay my bills with credit last month, and now I'm out of credit. So I have to pay that down and make enough to cover this month's and next month's bills before I can go anywhere. Mucho frustrating. And yeah, it's just shit money in L.A. right now. Too many desperate wannabe actresses and party girls out here.Originally Posted by scarlett_vancouver
Yeah, but she's having some personal issues at the moment and it's not a good time for guests. So I'm just saving up to travel right now, and plugging in there!Originally Posted by shakti
Thanks, everyone!
Yekhefah, let me know if you end up coming to Austin! It's a very cool city, with the following caveats:
Living expenses are high-ish (though probably cheaper than L.A.)
Sexually permissive city + gigantic state university = lots of competitions from too many would-be strippers
City has never really bounced back from a tech-market crash five years ago, and money doesn't flow like it used to. Earnings are decent, but nothing to travel cross-country for. But if your hubby is considering moving here anyway, you might like it. Sounds like it couldn't be any worse than L.A. I don't know why you're having so much trouble -- I met you at Dancerwealth and I think you're adorable.
Good luck, whatever you decide!

The same thing happened to my ex-boyfriend when he applied for a restaurant job at Applebees. They kept saying, "uh, call us tomorrow" then when he did, the manager would answer the phone sounding haggard/annoyed, and say "we're so busy right now, I can't take a min off the work floor to talk, call later" and this happened repeatedly. My ex is very assertive though, and he called a week later and was very upfront with the manager. He said "look, I've been calling every day and I want to know if you're stringing me along. You told me I'd be hired, I want to know what's going on. Otherwise I will take one of the many other job offers I've been given"(the job offer thing was a lie, but it was to make him seem wanted) And it was at THAT point that the manager said he didn't need anyone else. WTF?? I'd told my ex that Applebees was "bad news" and that they don't have much consideration for their employees, but I guess he had to go through it to find out.
Well, I dont this will make you feel any better... but it's not just you!! With all the busts and clubs closing there are excess girls and not enough customers...
I'm gonna go out to Vegas next weekend and try that.
Good luck girl, hang in there!
Yek - if youre interested in comming up to Sac let me know... its close (id offer you to stay here but its a tiny 1 room place!) Ive been consistantly leaving with 4-6 at my crappy lil club. I swear none of the dancers know how to hustle so youll clean up... just a thought - its not a bad drive - 6 hours.
Have you been to the body shop on sunset lately? i always did well there....
Because they are just a bunch of spineless jerks. Ever watch the movie "Office Space"?Originally Posted by Yekhefah

Paris, you're absolutely right. And it's annoying as hell.
Audrey, I'm going to the Body Shop today. Hopefully they'll let me work tonight - St. Pat's on the Sunset Strip sounds like it has earning potential. If only there was alcohol there... *sigh* Anyway.
Bikinigirl's club is AWESOME, guys! Not tons of money but okay by SoCal standards. I just wish it wasn't two hours from my house. And I got to meet another StripperWebber!
good luck yekhefah! and if it doesn't work out you know you are welcome at my club anytime!
i was so excited to meet my first SW'er!! Yekhefah is such a sweetie and a cutie!
Oh, I musta took a wrong turn at Albuquerque.
howdy ho, junior rangers.
