Default What clothing should be worn for guys?

I will be going to a club in vegas this weekend. Normally I go to clubs during the hot times. In vegas the last three years and in Arizona it has always been hot and wanted to be comfortable. I always wore shorts. One time one of the girls said I should have on ..... I forget what that was for pants. I will be going in a cold weather trip so thought I would be nice and where something good for both. I know Jeans is to rough so what would be better. I did go one other time in reno and wore slacks. What is your suggestions??

I know to avoid rough clothing with hard protrusions, anything that might cause chaffing, etc. What else?
    - Buttons: not OK?
    - Jeans: too rough?
    - T-Shirts: Cool? (there is no dress code) Might look wierd with a t-shirt if I'm wearing nice pants, though.
    - More tips?

Nice dress pants are good for two reasons, (1) it's more comfortable for the dancer and (2) it projects a nicer and more expensive air, so you'll get more girls coming up to you, and if you're dressed well, they might actually spend a little bit more time with you trying to get you to buy.
Buttons on dress shirts don't really matter; even when I do bodyslides they don't seem to catch at all. A better option than a tee shirt would be a nice fine-knit sweater; it's smooth and soft, a little warm, comfy, and has a tailored feel to it without being uptight. If you don't own any, you might want to add a few to your wardrobe, since they're good for work and for going out.

I wear a suit of mediveal armor, with chainmail on the inside, and the requisite helmet and cage.

Granted, it can be a tad harsh on the crotch of a dancer when she is giving me a lap dance, but thats why I give a dollar tip at the end.

I always dress business casual. And I would recomment that attire for most guys.

And then we have the regular club pervert who wears slinky sports outfits sans underwear. Hes there every day. The dancers all claim to hate him cause hes a pervert but his treks to the LD area have worn out the carpeting. Go figure.

In JC Penny's I found a great pair of Dockers that are about perfect for going to the clubs in. Price was around $50 which is a little high for Dockers but these are very smooth and soft; very comfortable. I got compliments from several dancers about how nice the pants felt. I usually wear a button down shirt over top a good white t-shirt. I try to wear shirts that feel soft. The buttons haven't been a problem yet. Some dancers will actually unbutton and take my shirt off of me before starting the dance.

Frankly, it doesn't matter what clothes you wear. Just be sure to take a shower and apply a very small amount of cologne. Be sure to have plenty of cash in your pocket because that will increase your confidence level and the dancers can sense that.

I've seen guys wear expensive trendy outfits who got totally ignored by dancers. Probably they can tell which guy will spend and which won't.

    The DC wardrobe:
    - Khaki trousers (preferably dark, no shorts, and esspecially NO BELT)
    - Boxers or boxer briefs
    - Collared short sleeve shirt (colors may vary)
    - Casual Brown or Black Loafers (i.e. no sneakers)
    - Double socks, one black pair over one white pair (gives you up to four stashes to hide your big bills)

    Preparation:
    - Shower
    - Shave
    - Trim nose hairs
    - Do all proper oral hygiene
    - Spray some AXE on back and chest
    - Stick tiproll in wallet and socks, sort by denomination if neccesary
    - Bring along breath strips in case I get weak for a cheeseburger or garlic pretzel between home and the club
    - Bring roll of toilet paper (if you've read my trip reports you'll know why)

Me thinks the ladies doth protest too much.

Doc can speak for himself, but keeping cash in socks, shirt or jacket pockets equals faster access for tipping. Avoids the whole wallet whip-out. Some guys keep money in socks as their emergency back-up.

I'm a more formal dresser, probably because I favor the "gentlemen's club" side of the industry. It feels more appropriate to me. In other clubs, I'll sometimes dress down.

    Standard:

Dark Armani suit with Pancaldi tie
    Allen Edmonds Park Avenue shoes
    Canali / Italy white shirt
    Mark Jacobs for Men

I keep a roll of $20 in my shirt pocket and also on my table.

I have a thing for Pancaldi ties. But I've learned to expect to lose it at stage. The dancers will take it off and use it in their performance, then walk around the club with it. Sometimes you will get it back, sometimes not. I have about a dozen Pancaldis left, but they are going fast.

These are the "splashy color" designer silk ties made in Italy. Here is one design (less-than-impressive angle, though):

rnrphoto, the label on the Dockers say Tencel (what the ?) and polyester. I just picked up a second pair today and got them on sale.

I wear khakis trousers, good collared shirt, Hanes knit boxers, brown shoes (not loafers but not too fancy either), and a belt. I know the belt might be controversial but I'd feel naked without it. Usually before a LD it gets taken off and all keys and other objects are removed from my pockets. One dancer does quite a job of making that simple task seem oh so sexy.

I don't like hiding my money in my socks or shoes. I come in with what I plan to spend in my wallet. I usually break a twenty or fifty at the door and put the change in one of my front pockets. If I see a dancer on stage that I want to tip I'll put some of the dollar bills in my front shirt pocket for easier access and then go up to the stage. The wallet only gets opened after my pockets are empty or to pay for a private. It might be an odd system but it helps me keep track of how much and how fast I'm spending money.

Get ready to say EWWW but a really beautiful guy who smells great with a big happy personality could get away with wearing sweat pants. The problem is when a weird, smelly, or sloppy guy tries to. So depending on where you are on the 1-10 scale you can do it too. It's like if Ben Affleck came in in sweat pants I would maul that man and send him home with his back broken! If Danny De Vito tried it he'd get a warm handshake!

Thanks TOO for posting the pic of the Pancaldi tie, they do look great.

I usually wear dockers with a soft polo shirt. Lands End Peruvian Pima polo shirts feel incredibly soft to the touch. I've had many, many dancers compliment me on how good they feel, especially as they are sliding their breasts down my chest!

I also want to comment on the whole "shorts" issue. I know that shorts are often associated with pervs, but I gotta say that in the Arizona summer, especially during dayshift time, shorts with a nice hawaiian type shirt and decent shoes with no socks is considered standard uniform for almost anywhere except the office. In the summer, I often wear this to dayshift clubs, and enjoy being very comfortable and laid back. To the dancers (especially LL and others from AZ), does every guy that walks in the club in shorts get an immediate perv label, or are we all pervs to start with, and the shorts merely magnify it?

Lol azdd, I don't mind shorts at all, as long as they're not Richard Simmons style! Oh and please don't try to wriggle around to make "Mr.Happy" slide out!

We missed you at the party last night.

I'm not expecting it, but its best to be prepared. Better to lose 50 bucks than 500. I'm surprised more muggers and pickpocketers haven't considered that a strip club can be a goldmine with all that cash being around.

And since I keep the wallet in the back pocket, as TOO suggested, its a lot easier reach than digging out my wallet and fumbling for the correct bills.

i've know several people that were mugged leaving the sc, usually after spending several thousand dollars, all they would get from me is the 6 bucks i save for jack in the box.

most of the time i wear a t-shirt & jeans. last time i wore slacks & a nice shirt my atf looked at me & said what the fuck are all dressed up for, are you leaving early?
another tip pierced nipples can get hung on shirt pockets, so i don't wear shirts with pockets anymore

Oh geez, if I ever show up looking like Richard Simmons, shoot me in the head, quick! I've never done any "sliding out" maneuvers, but I've had a few dancers do a few exploratory moves on their own....... .

I hope the party was fun, the rest of us are going to require a trip report on the dark (blue) side. Perhaps a NATO report, or maybe we need a new category, NOTO (night outside the office) reports!

Cheers LL, and thanks for the advice!

I must say I favor The Other Owner's manner of dress far more than any other mentioned. Unfortunately I'd look a bit out of place in a suit, though I'd probably wear a different selection than TOO who seems to favor the Italian I'd be walking in in a very nice Gieves and Hawkes Double Breasted or a Brooks Brothers single breast, brooks brothers shirt and... ok, Allen Edmonds I agree on. Unfortunately I'd stick out like a horrible sore thumb in the only local club and thus keep myself to nice slacks and a dress shirt/polo shirt/golf shirt. On a friday I'll wear dark, soft, jeans, dress shirt and a blazer.

I'm also a bit too young to pull off the suit look. Perhaps later in life when my age catches up with my hobbies.
