    Red 'formal' dress

I have a nice red 'formal' type of dress. It isn't stripper-ish as it is quite 'formal' however I did originally buy it to use for stripper purposes (as it is rather easy to get on/off and looks great!).

I'm curious as to music selections you would pick for such an outfit. I'm aiming for sexy/sensual and glamourous type of music if there is such a thing as that is what this dress is...

"Lady in Red" was the first song that came into mind however it may not totally work tho' I won't rule it out. Maybe any songs that allude to red dresses, glamour or love (due to the red colour).

It is only the first song that matters as I am only going to use this for competitions or 'themed stage shows' in clubs which require 10-12 minute length shows (therefore it would come off half way or at the end of the first song).

PS I will post a photo of the dress if you think you need to 'see' it so you can come up with some music that would suit it. All I require is one song.

Just that I am not a red-head nor am I busty.... I will put it under consideration. Anymore suggestions anyone? It's an 'unusual' show I know and that is why I want to do it.

Goodness, you are speaking to someone who did Slave Leia as her competition show last year Just wish the outfit wasn't a real 'costume' (only to be worn not to be used as part of a strip show) as it suffered under being constantly undressed (as such).

The "Roger Rabbit song" mentioned is by Peggy Lee and is called 'Why Don't You Do Right?' Have you considered a 'classic strip song' from the burlesque era? Sonny Lester ('Bumps and Grinds," "Walkin' and Strippin," and "The Stripper") has more than a few songs and they are just fun and sexy - no vocals. Also consider, Etta James' version of "You Can Leave Your Hat On."

A lot of features do "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" for their first song if they are just wearing a long gown. You could wear some diamond jewelry with your red dress and I think this could work.

I am going to try to acquire some nice red or black gloves. Maybe add a diamonte bracelet on one or both gloves.... or forget that and go with a red or black feather boa. So I am going for a 'glam' type of look with this outfit.

First song that came to mind is the new Sugababes single, "Red Dress"...it's got a pretty catchy beat.

This instantly came to mind, as well as a number of more modern songs with this name, some of which are superb for stripping...

I have taken to playing PL's "Fever" when my stepdad comes into the club, and sending it out to "the kind of love that never dies...". This in reference to my mom's recent death. He loves her still, and always will, and she had a classy aura, so it works--so long as the right dancer is onstage, and the right clientele in the club.

There are some other great ideas here as well--another winning thread for this!

Snow - Lady With The Red Dress On
I came across that song when I typed "red dress" as my search terms into Limewire! I nearly used it (as I trimmed it down to reference the red dress alot) however decided against it as I just couldn't 'picture' myself dancing to this song (a little too upbeat - not sexy/sultry enough for me)

I'm thinking of using either Peggy Lee's "Fever" (and acting it out) or one of the many versions available of "Lady In Red".

Do you think "Lady in Red" is too slow as an 'entrance' song ?

Thanks for the "Bumps n Grinds" suggestion as I am going to use that as a second song

Christany - thanks for some of those suggestions. I'm trying to stay away from anything country as I personally have a distaste for that type of music so I would never be able to dance to it.

I need a catchy 'entrance' mood setting song. Think red dress, glamour and sultry/sexy

I'd go with the old classic "Fever", so long as there are a fair number of older guys in the audience.

"Lady in Red", at least the most popular version (was it a movie theme song?), always struck me as being a bit slow and too pop sounding, or almost whiny--but this is purely a personal thing. I'm sure it would work fine, though I bet you could find better suggestions, especially right here in this thread.

BTW, I love the fact that you are using this theme--bringing back a little class to the game...

If you are thinking of using Fever check out the versions by Annabella or Beyonce.

You can then maybe go over to Tom Jones - She's A Lady [Remix] or History Repeating - Propellerheads feat Shirley Bassey or even Where Is My Man (Original Single Edit) - Eartha Kitt. And then finish it off with The Lady Is A Vamp - Spice Girls or Sway - The Pussycat Dolls

Hopefully these details will give you some ideas.

It says "Forbidden" when you click on it, so I suppose I'll have to keep using my imagination--I'm sure it's hot, though...

The version of Do Right on Roger Rabbit is sung by Amy Irving.
