Default Question for Customers - Liar?

How much/how often do you lie to the strippers during conversations?

I'm not talking about standard guy/girl lies like you're the hottest thing I've ever seen, I've got a big dick, blah blah blah blah.

I'm talking about making up stuff about who you are, why you're there.

Some days I will be honest about everything we talk about.

Other days I will start off by giving a fake name and every single thing after that is part of a story, not me at all. Why I'm there. Where I'm from. What I do for a living. Whether I'm from out of town or not. Everything. Not for any particular reason, some days I just don't feel like telling true things about myself.

    Is that common practice?

Why bother with all that effort?

Strippers that have been in the business for any length of time have heard it all before from much more attractive guys and delivered more smoothly than you (or me). It's part of the job description.

Why lie about anything? They really don't care, and if you do develop a relationship with a dancer (ITC or OTC), you'll quickly learn if she cares and how much.

I go to the club to relax, not to pretend I'm someone else--that's too much energy.
Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive.

Maybe I'm a natural born liar, it doesn't seem like any effort to me whatsoever. Just comes out.

But, as to why, I think that it's mostly to entertain myself, it gets boring saying my name is x and I do y for a living and I'm from z, same ole same ole story. I know it doesn't matter to the girl, but that has no input into why or when I decide to make up something.

And oh, I don't make up something outlandish like I'm a race car driver or I'm from New Zealand or something. Just shift things around a bit.

I don't lie -- too much effort to remember the story line (especially week to week).

Though not lying does sometimes lead me to conversations I'd rather not have in the lap dance room (though I'm happy to have them at the bar). E.g. about kids, etc.

Some dancers think I am lying, however, because (although now a naturalized U.S. citizen) I came from a rather weird country (and indeed one with the extremely dubious honor of being listed in the Forbes Most Dangerous Destinations 2006 list).
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.

I learned a long time ago there's no sense getting all riled up every time a bunch of idiots give you a hard time. In the end, the universe tends to unfold as it should. Plus I have a really large penis. That keeps me happy.

I don't go very often any more, and it has been so long since I have been, I just don't remember. I do always lie as to my profession.

Exaclty! I go to SC's to escape the every day BS of work, family and the reality of living in the 21st century. Once you start lying to dancers you are just creating another opportunity for stress. Not only that, it means you are taking things WAY to seriously ITC. Dancers don't care if you are a ditch digger or a brain surgeon as long as you are spending money on them.

I guess what I'm seeing is that it's too much work if you have to maintain a storyline. I don't frequent the same club or dancer enough (I'm not a regular) to have to maintain any consistency, so that's not a problem for me. But the responses are interesting.

That's probably a question best answered by hashing it out with Dr. Melfi. I can say I don't feel any need to do so.

But short answer, best I can tell, is that at that particular moment, it's more interesting to myself to be someone other than who I really am. As I say, it's a moment-to-moment or dancer-to-dancer call, sometimes I'm completely honest.

Well, you started a thread about it and your being pretty open about the fact that you do it. We can play word games about how you or I want to apply the word need here but you must have areason for doing it.

Just a reminder, with Tony laid up in a comma right now Dr. malfi has a lot of free time available.

I let the dancer do the talking, except for the obligatory. I think I'm going to start using the name lunchbox in the future.

If there is something I don't feel like telling, then I dont say it.

After spending all that money to be given uncritical attention, why would you feel the need to put on an act? The club is the one place you don't have to, and if you try to they won't believe you anyway. You can be yourself, and they won't laugh at you until your back is turned!

The only thing I lie about is claiming not to remember where I heard things when it looks like drama is starting.

I do it too... I'm a dancer. Although I know it is unethical to lie, I guess i consider myself an actress there. I'll tell certain guys things I think they might want to hear. usually I lie about my identity - possibly to protect my safety and privacy. I feel like it is fair game in a strip club since i am trying to be fantasy girl. Also, I take everything customers say with a grain of salt.
