Ok, so before I post this probably stupid question, let me give a short background statement:
I grew up in a town of 800 in Texas, and until I grew up and moved away, I honestly did not realize strip clubs existed. Or pornographic films, or a sex industry beyond Playboy magazine (yeah, I thought that was the only one)
My husband's ex before me was a stripper and that is where I really found out about this world! Now I am learning to strip- for him- I probably will not go to work as a dancer because I don't think I'm cut out for it- too sensitive to criticism- but I've purchased my first pole and I've been learning to do a lot of floor work and pole work in the last couple of months.
My question.. I'm not sure how to word this without rambling.. his ex worked at one club, Pure Gold I think, most of the time- but she would also go to work for a week in Myrtle Beach. Does this mean she was a feature dancer and the clubs asked her to come there? Or is it more likely that she was an independent stripper (wrong term?) and she went to whatever club she wanted when she pleased? I don't really know all the details but I was wondering if you have to work at one club, or if you can work at multiple clubs? I saw a couple girls on here say they go to other clubs for the weekend, etc., so I am a bit confused.
Sorry so long and rambling and ignorant, but I really want to understand how all of this works. I think it is awesome that you girls are so empowered and good at what you do, and this website has really changed my opinion of dancers in general- some of the posts in topics on this board are highly intelligent and I have a lot more respect for this field of work now than I did when I didn't know anything about it. Please nobody misinterpret this!
