Default there is a reason things go out of style...

    and should STAY OUT!

Ladies, I'm talking about the revival of "skinny jeans."

They should be called "jeans for girls who weigh under 80 pounds" or "inverted pyramid" jeans. Seriously.. who the hell thinks these are flattering??? If you have any hips or thighs whatsoever, these make you look like an ELEPHANT!!!

I will admit, they work well with a pair of boots, but that's it. (the boots balance out the bottom)

For the love of God.. make it stop. They look like 80's leggings. What are these designers smokin?? Sure, they look great on women with a four inch space between their thighs (see below), but last time I checked, such physiology required serious drug use.
    LOL.
    Ok, I'm done.

I realized they were a style dont when Scarlet Johannsen walked at a fashion show int hem, and she looked obese...which she is not by any stretch, but she does have hips...made her look downright fat.

I like skinny jeans, but only because they fit into my boots. I don't wear them unless I'm wearing boots (over the pants).

I think skinny jeans look like crap 99% of the time, but when people get it right, it's oh so right....Kate Moss!!!

yah okay.. i spent a ton on skinny jeans last weekend at Akira. i think buying them excited me more then anything else lately. They look good with boots , great with heels etc. but it all depends on what you are wearing with them as a top ..and im not a bean pole. I think they look great, depends on the style you like though.

Anything has to be better than flares and bootlegs. WHY WHY WHY can't I find anything but flares and bootlegs anymore?? It's been so many years; you'd think the fad would be over. I can't be the only one who misses straight-leg jeans, can I?

I've seen a few straight-leg jeans for tall women, but nothing for us shorties!

Straight leg jeans look like shit on me. They look like shit on most. I'm totally not excited...I could handle leg warmers, plastic jewelry, neon colours, and the re-introduction of both the mohawk and the mullet...but not skinny jeans.
    Can't handle it.
Yes...they look great with boots for skinny girls. Thank god summer is almost here, we won't have the boots excuse any longer.

Glad I'm not the only one. I shuddered when I first saw them coming back into style. There is NO WAY I'll ever be caught dead wearing a pair.

I don't care either way about those skinny jeans- the more choices the better I believe.

But like Mermaidnz wrote, I hate when my jeans don't cover at least half of my boots/sneakers. For sexy sandals, I'll make an exception. But I will wear boot-cut until my last day on this earth.

haha...i'm with vet princess but im not trying to brag. i'd trade my chicken legs for some shapely calves! mm mmm!

i am actually excited to have SLIMMER jeans in style. i am tired of the generic "seven jean bootcut fit" look of the high-end denim. some girls ROCK them but mostly i think they make you look shapeless. i am short and petite and slim jeans make my legs look longer and accentuate the little hips i have making me look a little more voluptous rather than spongebob squarepants in bootcut. joes jeans "twiggy" style are my favorite, straight and narrow and straight across the top to minimize muffiny backfat! (gotta hem off about six inches at the end though. heh!)

now, there is a limit! few girls, not including myself, can pull off the super tapered leggings-jeans. yuck. i had to outright tell a pushy salesguy at diesel that "yes i like slim jeans but those look like the homemade pegged pants punk rock boys make in high school" youknowwhati mean! slim and straight! i dont wanna fight to get my heel through the bottom!

Okay ladies, I'm a little disappointed in your POV....lol. But I LOVE skinny jeans, yet I've been sporting the few pairs that I could find for a couple of years now. I am also a very hippy woman, with quite the bubble butt, but I love them. Now, I pissed off that they have become such a trend again. I like being one of those ahead of the fad types.

AND, I got compliments all the time. Tons of girls asked me where I got them. It was hard, but I searched high and low and have some amazing pairs. Not many designers were making them until this season.

Try them out. You may be pleasantly surprized!

I like 'em. I have never been a fan of the flares/bootlegs and pretty much stick with men's button-fly 501s these days. And I'm definitely not a stick. Just look to your left, hah.

Actually I have a friend who was recently in Europe and said a lot of the fashionable men wear either this little half mullet type thing or a faux-hawk. I was in the mall and this fasionable looking dude working in Saks had the faux-hawk going so maybe it's coming here. Ack!

As far as skinny jeans, do you just mean that the legs are skinny? It's hard to tell because the girl in the pic just looks skinny so I don't know about the jeans. all I know is if you weigh yourself with jeans on you weigh a lot more.

Yuck to the skinny jeans (like i needed to be reminded that i'm a toothpick). What's with the leggings and mini skirt thing? Leggings are 80's right? I think it's an excuse to sell more mini skirts....to 12yr olds...so they can walk the malls...

Some of the skinny jeans can look ok. I have some from Old Navy, they have just enough flare, but I can smash them into boots. Say NO to tapered-leg, boycott mom jeans!

I can think of worse things then skinny jeans....the super TAPERED jeans! You know, the ones where you have to really wrestle to even get your foot through the leg hole. Soooo 80s and it reminds me of my GRANDMA who still wears them.

Don't even remind me of the skinny jeans in the 80's!! We wore them so skin tight that the only way to get them on was to lie down on the bed and use a coat hanger or a pair of pliers to get the zipper up! Then you had to go the whole day without breathing!

Give me a nice pair of low rise boot cuts any day. Much more flattering. The only reason I own 2 pair of skinny jeans if because I'm a tall boot lover...and that's the ONLY time I ever wear them.

I've seen a few straight-leg jeans for tall women, but nothing for us shorties!
Are you talking about regular jeans like Levis and Lee's? I have a few pair of regular straight leg jeans (use them for hiking and such). I get them at the Tommy Hilfiger outlet...they go by lengths as well.
