Teehee! Texas Hold 'Em is the poker game of choice when we play at our place. Hopefully we'll have a big game when we get settled in our house- I always enjoyed beating the guys!![]()
Texas holdem is big in the bars in PA. I play maybe 2 times a week. My bf plays like 5. It is addictive!
I play in a bar on a regular basis. I am a complete addict. Sometimes I win...sometimes I lose.....and when I win...the bar bill still wins![]()

Im sure its a lot of fun to play. I just wish it wasnt freaking being televised 24/7 on ESPN.
The only thing more boring to watch then Poker being played on Television is that Dr. Phil moron.

I've been playing card games, Texas Hold 'em included since I could walk and talk. I think it's so weird that it has become so mainstream. Like 13 year olds saying they want to be pro card players when they grow up. Very odd. You can always spot the "wanna be" card players who only are doing it because it's the "in" thing to do right now.
It's a great game, so is 7 Card Stud. It's not bad to watch on TV, but there is too much of it. Some of the celeb poker shows are ok....it's always fun to see some celeb do well who you never expected knew how to play poker.
I'm old school in that I'm not into the online poker. I like playing live with people because the interaction between the players is a HUGE part of the game. I wanna joke around, and be able to try and read their body language etc...
It will be interesting to see who really sticks around and plays the game once this fad is over with the media.

I'm a "7 card stud low hole card wild" guy. Never played Texas Hold-em. This state's ABC has effectively banned the game in bars when played for money. Yet they still allow topless stripping in bars for the drunks.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

It's just annoying because everybody and their momma has a poker show going on. It was ok (and actually pretty fun) when it was the first one (was it World Series of Poker?), but now it's just a pain in the...well...Originally Posted by Prester_John

Yeah, its kind of annoying that poker is on every TV channel now, and that ESPN keeps rehashing those WSOP episodes. What kind of disapointed me about the recent mania is that it never really spread to other poker games (including smaller bet versions of Hold'em). I can see why no limit tournaments are so popular though. There's that consequence of elimination that the players have to consider which is telegenic to watch.
I suggested some time back that some of us bogart one of those play money tables at the bigger online sites and chat while playing some ring game hold'em (or even have a single table tournament if we can get lucky enough). Anyone interested?

When was that suggested? I must have totally missed that one! I might do it, but I'd probably get my bootay kicked. I think all the guys put on their (as Mox calls it) "C game" when I'm playing because they know I'll get my feelings hurt if I lose!Originally Posted by doc-catfish

I'm still game, though! It'd be fun! Who else is in?

You know what's fun about World Series of Poker (dork alert) is to play while you watch. I'm corny, I know. But if you play at the same time you feel more apart of the action. To go all in when Doyle goes all in--aaahhhh......Nirvana! If you win, NirvanaThe funny thing is I used to play in family games when I was a child and pissed the adults off when I won. But I stopped because I was a bad loser
. Now I'm far more gracious.
My wife and I are HOOKED on Texas Hold-em! We play on partypoker.net for free. Anyone else play on party poker?

Yeah, you got me. I looooooooove Party Poker! I've tried some others but their format is the most fun!

Poker is NOT a sport no matter what they say. If poker is advertises itself as such and gets away with it, then I think whe should advertise the lapdance as a sport too.

^ Or just dance in general. I always hated that...cheerleading is a sport, but not dance? Bah!
I do agree, though...sitting your ass in a chair and passing around little pieces of paper is NOT a sport!
POKER - a mental sport.
LAPDANCING - a physical sport
GETTING A GUY TO PAY FOR A LAPDANCE THAT WON'T GO WHERE HE WANTS IT TO - mental + physical

Folks, we live in a world where they broadcast "competitive eating" contests on TV, and where rhythmic gymnastics and curling apparently belong in the Olympics but baseball and softball do not.
Lets face it, everything is a sport. Precisely why they should make an ESPN3.

Hey, that's what I do when getting lapdances. Well, the outside world sees that. The dancer and I know other interesting things are going on as well.Originally Posted by Deni
