Default Put on a show --> Get no tips!

I want to know how to get tipped on stage. The common way to do it is to go around the stage, and one by one, show my hoo-ha to each customer for a buck or two, sometimes ten. This is pretty boring and I tend to feel like a piece of meat.

I enjoy dancing, real dancing, and romancing the pole. Although the customers hoot and holla when I hang upside down, they won't tip me unless I approach and give them individual attention. Putting on a show costs me the valuable time to collect tips. What can I do to keep the show and still get the money? Put out a jar?

I hear ya, that's how it is at my club. They want their personal attention for that buck or two they give to you. Do you dance to a complete 2 songs or how is your stage show? Normally we have two songs, and the first we're completely clothed. So we do most of our stage show to that, then when we take our tops off, or completely nude the guys will go up and we do what you do.

I'm up 3 songs. 1st song clothed, 2nd song topless, 3rd song nude. I'm not tipped until the 3rd song. Gee, I wonder why! Usually I peel my clothes like a banana in 30 seconds and run around nude. I make between $50-$100 for each set this way; whereas, if I do the striptease in 1st, 2nd, 3rd song increments, I make about $20.

Can't they show a dollar appreciation for a good pole trick? I must add that if I'm nude, I am not allowed to do polework or to sit on the stage. I must keep my bottoms on.

I know, it's funny how the guys will flock when the clothes start coming off, but not so much until you do that.
Some guys will see a pole trick and actually go up and show appreciation for it. I guess it depends on the crowd.
As for your second paragraph, we're allowed to do that nude.
I guess it depends on how you feel. If you don't mind "feeling like a piece of meat" as you've said before and you're making the money then all is good. I don't know I just see it as money and gotta give the customers their show. Good luck sweetie.

If you put on a good show on stage, just do it for the fun of it. It sounds like the club you work at is more lap danced focused (the majority of your income is from lap dances) so it stands to reason that the guys are there more for the sexuality of the club then for the artistic aspects of it.

You can look around and find a more stage focused club, or compete in paegents, or try out a burlesque club for that matter. The down side is that the income is lower than in a lap dancing club.

Its the individual attention that they're paying you for not the acrobatics. When clubs began introducing one-on-one private dances, it began to change customer's philosiphies with regards all financial transactions they did with dancers. Stage tips became a payment for service just like dances. I see very few people just drop money on the rail/stage anymore as a way of saying thanks. They want acknowledgement for their money (and admittedly sometimes too much for the sum they are offering) and wait until the dancer collects it.

I have personally used stage tips as a means of scouting potential candidates for private dances, and while I like a good pole trick as much as the next guy, a gal who gets too involved in her routine to the point where she's ignoring my money on the rail strikes me as someone who is cold, disinterested, or doesn't understand the dynamic very well. I usually will then spend the big bills on someone who gives me a little warmer acknowledgement.

My advice is for you to compromise between what you want to do, and what you need to do to make money. Do your pole tricks early while you're still clothed as an attention getter. Focus more on giving individual attention once the money starts appearing. Just remember, if you have private dances at your club, the big money is usually made off stage.

Urgh! I've been in Myrtle beach for 3 weeks and I'm still not used to that. They expect the world for their f-ing dollar and hardly anyone tips! I'm lucky if I get 20 dollars at the end of my show. It sucks. They seem to have forgotten that tipping is supposed to show appreciation. You shouldn't expect something for your tip unless you're tipping 5 and more and even then. We don't get paid to go on stage and they know that. Bah!

I fucking love dancing. It's why I got into stripping in the first place. Very dramatic dancing, emphasizing fluidity and grace, exaggerating the human form, knowing songs well enough to spin on the pole at the right moment or when to just arch one's back... fun fun fun!

Even if people aren't tipping at all, I dance and dance hard. Sometimes I'll go for all 2-3 songs without taking off my top if I feel that I didn't make enough tips. But I smile the whole time and look like I'm having fun... if the audience is lame then I just look in the mirror and focus on my form and style.

It's like... I'd rather feel like I was earing $10 an hour for dancing and having fun than $10 for standing around being bored, y'know?

If there are people at the rack then in between the songs, I make sure to get their name, shake their hand/stroke their hair or something, and then maybe line up some dances after my set. I definitely don't believe in giving some dude 20 seconds of me spread-eagled up on the rack just because he gave me a $20 onstage -- all that merits is me probably lining up a dance afterward, and at the very least my sitting with them at the rack for a song (with them tipping for me) or at a table for a drink.

I believe that I'm often a top earner... I'm going to get the DancerWealth HSC soon, so I can make sure to be just as confident and happy when I'm working the floor!

The main reasons guys say they want a dance from me?
--I dance really well. Athletically and sexily.
--I look like I'm the most fun girl in the room.
--I'm asian. (Oh man, though I can really bank on this one, it's fuuuckin' annoying sometimes.)

Wanted to add that when I first started dancing, I was told to ALWAYS thank guys for their money. I always look at them and say "thank you" very loudly if they walk up to the rail to tip and look at them & thank them again at the end of the song. If they're at the rack then I'll spend a bit of time chatting with them as I pick up the $$.
