    Default Life at Yekhefah's House

So, about a half hour ago, I was getting a little hungry and figured I'd have dinner. I heated up some chili, and while I was at it, I fed our elderly cat. He gobbled down about half of it while I had my chili.

Shortly after we'd both finished, he came back in the kitchen and stood behind my chair, then proceeded to make this unearthly howl. I've never heard any animal make noises like that. He was crouched in a weird way, and then he threw up all over the place. He kept on going and going until there was a massive puddle of warm, smelly-fishy liquid all over the floor. It was like that scene from Team America. As soon as he was done, he apparently felt better. I grabbed some paper towels and he walked off.

So I started cleaning it up, but the smell and the warmth hit me. I wasn't feeling so well myself, from the chili. Next thing I know, we now have a puddle of liquid cat-yak and premasticated chili mixed with stomach bile covering the kitchen floor. At this point, the cat comes back in and walks through it, and tracks it in little paw-prints before I can stop him.

Eventually I got it all cleaned up, but it still smells a little rank in here.

I just hope he's feeling better. I'm not, just yet.

I know my bf is going to be glad he wasn't home this evening!

Consider yourself and your cat both very lucky! Much better to do a little cleaning than getting both a bill from the vet and the doc! Unless your bf is vet or doc himself, of course...

No... no vet bill, but he probably should go. He's got arthritis and he's limping on his front leg, and he's lost all his teeth except his two fangs. He's in excellent shape otherwise, but he could use a checkup. If he throws up again, we'll definitely take him sooner. I guess he just ate too fast or something. Ugh, it smelled awful.

But yeah, guys, I'm laughing too. I still don't feel all that well, but I keep picturing myself and the cat on the kitchen floor barfing together, and there's just something funny about that. It took me forever to clean all that up.

I just told my brother this story, and he asked, "How come you got sick?"

I said, "I don't know if you've ever smelled a two-foot puddle of regurgitated tuna fish, but let me assure you it wouldn't make a good cologne."

Sorry, but that made me laugh my ass off! Our old cat used to do that too before he yakked....its like some horrible, end of the world yowl of death.
I don't blame you for throwing up....ugh....I steered clear of all pet mess cleanup when I had them.

oh, god that is worse than what happened to me the other night. I stepped in dog poop that my dog had randomly left somewhere in the living room I guess. I didn't know it at first so I got it all over the livingroom floor which is wood. I was down on my knees trying to differentiate between knots in the wood and a smear of turd. I also tracked it on the bedroom floor (also wood) on the way to the bathroom and then somehow got it on my pajama leg and had to take my pants off and throw them in the shower. The whole time I was trying to watch Prison Break and fix something to eat because I was starving and had to stop everything and wash my feet and the floor and the pajamas and all this happened right after I took a shower. My dog is pretty tiny and it's not like I stepped in a Rottweiler's crap or anything but a 7 pound dog's turd. But hey, at least I didn't puke (although I wanted to).

Hope you and your cat feel better!

That's a funny story . My cat used to make a sound like a human baby talking right before he would throw up. But he was real young back then.

If I had to eat what cats eat (so stinky), I'd throw up too. Now about that chili.....
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

We're both back to normal, everyone. I think he just ate too fast. But I'm still laughing!

My bf doesn't find it funny at all. I guess it's because he wasn't here.

yek just thought i should mention...did you say you fed your cat regular tuna? do you feed him that often b/c maybe that's why he got sick, i have this book about cats and it said it's not good to give them tuna too much b/c it can make them sick. not sure how true it is b/c i know a lot of people do give their cats people-tuna, but since i read that i was always too scared to, if i do i just give them a few pinches...anyway something to think about!

He didn't have straight tuna for dinner last night, but he did for breakfast yesterday because we were out of cat food. Maybe it was just a delayed reaction or something. His dinner last night that he ate right before throwing up was a half-can of tuna-flavored cat food.

My old vet told me once that it doesn't take much to make a cat throw up. They're designed to scavenge when they can't hunt, so if something doesn't agree with them, they just barf it up before it gets a chance to make them really sick. Cats have a hair-trigger on their vomit reflexes. He's all better now.

Reminds me sorta of the Family Guy episode where they all drink epicac and throw up uncontrollably on each other for like 5 min.

Yekhefah's special tuna chili surprise now with bile!

UPDATE: What is wrong with my cat? Now he won't stop crying for attention. He just ripped my favorite jeans, trying to get me to look at him. He won't let me stop petting him. Needy old bastard!
