    Default One Month Down...

I just finished my first month of beauty school. Our school is different than most but it goes something like - 4 weeks womens cuts, 4 weeks color, 4 weeks mens cuts, etc etc... we have 8 months of theory and 4 months on the floor... not in that order tho...

Anywho - I just finished my "Ladies Hair Sculpting" finals with an A - 92%. (I should have 95% and will be speaking to my school director about it Tuesday)

I start color Tuesday... I LOVE my school. This school it a hundred thousand times better than the crappy "state board" school I went to 2 years ago. I am sooo confident in my cuts and I HATED cutting hair before (because I didnt know what I was doing - they didnt really TEACH anything!)

    Its WAY different here.

If ANYONE id interested in going to beauty school I would HIGHLY advise to find a school that teaches "Pivot Point" - its a WONDERFUL system... if youve ever been to a "state board school" (school that teaches only enough for you to pass board and get a liscense) you will be AMAZED if you go to one of these schools. Its so good I cant even really explain why - you just have to go to see the difference and the confidence you will get at a PP school.

Anywho - just thought Id share - cant wait for Tuesday!

I'm so happy for you! YES....the school I went to used the Pivot Point system as well and was a full year 40 hours per week. Got alot of good training. The quality of cosmetology school makes a huge difference. Good luck with the new career!!!!

My tuition was $15000 but thats the average here - $11K-$15K (I checked out ALL the schools in my area)... my school is also federally backed meaning I got grants of $7k and loans for the rest. None of the other schools have federal funding so in the end the most expensive and the best ended up being the cheapest (because of the grants).... interesting how that works...
