Can we please embolden the "Bitch" tampadancer? We need to make sure these girls know their place.

Bunny-- wow, you've got quite the following....um, Bitch. (did I say it right, guys?) If you are indeed fretting over nothing, then yeah, don't do the plastic surgery. I know I'll probably have some after I hit thirty, so that's why I don't mind suggesting it if you really are fretting that much about your cellulite. I think, and I'm trying to get up the gumption to do this too, that you should wear mini skirts out and about. You'll probably find (so I'm told) that most people, especially guys, can't see what we're fretting about...so that might help the fretting.

Can we talk about jogging for a second? I wanted to start a jogging thread but this seems like a good time and place to pose my question. I started jogging last week. But my friend swears that running makes your hips spread. Please tell me that's not true...

I don't see how running makes your hips spread. I've always had wide hips but running never changed that. Running did make my knees bother me however so I've stopped.

And I do have cellulite, trust me, I just don't flaunt it! But thanks for all the compliments tampa and Mast. I've tried Tonalin and it didn't do a thing for me and I've wanted a little thigh lipo for years but I'm not convinced the end result will be any better because a lot of "after" lipo pics I see the woman still has cellulite and then has no shape so screw that, especially since it ain't cheap!

the theory that running makes your "hips spread" is silly. I'd like to see the medical journals with research that backs up such a claim.

The only thing that makes your "hips spread," to my knowledge, is childbirth.

My prefered method of cardio exercise is swimming laps.

thank you fb and td. I kept saying it was bullshit but my hip muscles are sore so I thought Oh God what if it's true?

What kind of swimming do you do, otb? All I can do is the puppy paddle, I've never tried any of those breast strokes I wouldn't know where to begin.

I'm getting a bicycle soon but I think I'm getting a cruiser. I'm pretty lazy and sedentary it's taken alot of motivation for me to start running.

I do all the styles.Freestyle, back stroke, breast stroke (the frog) and butterfly.I used to be on the swim team.It is the most effective all over cardio with no impact on your joints and back.

ohhhhhhh so you were on the swim team. I'd probably look like an asshole if I tried all those

(Did anybody see the Friends episode where Phoebe ran like a spaz in central park and Rachel was too embarressed to run with her?)

What I do is swim ten laps alternating styles with no breaks. Then I would do a cool down by lightly jogging in place for a few minutes.

Basically I got two or three really deep painful zits (and I was only on for a couple weeks at the longest), and occasionally I would try to pop them and it would seem like they did pop-- but then they'd stay....sulking....purple. AND SLOWLY HEAL UP to the point that I couldn't see them, but I'd run my finger over my face and I'd still feel a lump in that spot like over a MONTH LATER ON!!! I've never had that happen before, so I'm blaming the tonalin.

A good way to get rid of cellulite on your thighs is rollerblading. It uses your thighs as you hold yourself upright. The best recomendation is to find an exercise you can stick to like swimming 3x a week or rollerblading 3x a week or walking like 3 miles 3x a week and stick with it. Use a good mousterizer on your thighs too. The Nivea q-10 is good stuff but Avon also carries Cellusculpt and it ROCKS. Drinking a lot of water (half your weight in oz. of water a day is totally necesarry to get rid of cellulite) and rubbing your thighs with a olive oil is also good. Massage gets the oxygen flowing underneath the skins surface, so remember that when you are applying lotion, the longer you apply a good rub, the better your cells will look.

Good lord--half your body weight in ounces? I weigh 102 lbs, so I'd need to drink 51oz. a day? I'd never leave the bathroom--I drink at least 32 now, and pee so often it's tiresome.

I swim 3x a week, and like OnlytheBest, do laps. 15ish, depending on the day, then 1.5 minute intervals of no-hands treading, 3 minutes regular treading, and leg pulls & pushes in the water. I've considered going to 4 days a week, but know you're only supposed to work the same muscles every other day. I do resistance at home on my off-swim days. Thoughts on this?
