how do you prevent / get rid of the thick dark skin on the knees after work?
it looks really bad i use stockings but keep touching the floor on the knees during dances doesnt help so the skin grows more sensitive hurts!
maybe some kind of pads ?
    or cream ?
    advices please!!!!!

How often are you going on stage? If I work dayshift, I'm on stage alot more, and by the end of my shift, my joints are aching. Try to avoid any moves that require you to be on your knees. When I am on my knees, I usually shift my weight back to hips, and i'm laying back. It realives the pressure off the knees.

Umm knee pads, I can imagine the immaturity of guys if they saw that. (giggles)

Are your knees painful or just dark? If you're new and it hurts also, after a while, sometimes your knees (and all parts of you) will get used to the aches. Stripper skins takes a while to toughen up to the environment but it always will toughen up in the end.

Anyway, some tips (you could do a site search to get this info, but I'll save you the hassle):

    1. Thigh high boots; wearing knee pads/high socks covering knees under them will cushion your knees.

    2. Do less floorwork (such as crawling)

    3. Use arnica. This stuff is a miracle for bruising. Pharmacists and herbal stores sell it.

    4. Rub glucosamine sulphate onto your knees. You should also be able to buy it in a pharmacist store.

stripper knee is the worst! One of my customers last night was giving my legs a rubdown and he commented that my knee felt like it had fluid in it, and was all bruised. I hate it!

It does take awhile to get used to. I just used to rub icegel on my knees every night or A535.. eventually I just toughend up and everything was okay. It does hurt like a bitch for the first month or so. If it hurts to much just avoid getting on your knees a lot. You CAN dance without getting on your knees to much Good luck! Also if it hurts to much just take an advil before/after work

Girl, get off of your knees if you dont' have to be. What type of shoes are you buying? Comfort is key! Also, did you ever think to take your shoes off before you begin a dance?

Well, when do couch dances at our club, it's REQUIRED that we take off the shoes, so that we don't puncture the couches with our heels.

Let me ask you this, you say you wear 5in heels..I hope you have some sort of platform on it? If not, I can see why you're hurting so bad.

I've been dancing nine months now and I still get bruised up knees after four straight days of long, stage-heavy shifts. Now I just avoid floor work if I have to go up on stage more than twice. I'm a bruise bunny, and my floor work blows rhinos anyway. My doctor says it would be better if I had more iron. So maybe check to make sure you're not anemic. Palafer iron pills are good.

I would suggest using some type of cloth on stage for your knees.
    Do less floor work.
Take Arnica pills/tabs (although I think there is another name for the tabbed ones)
Vitamin C vitamins + multivitamin *promotes faster healing and immunity
For dark spots exfoliate while sitting in a epsom salt bath.

To get rid of the rough spots on your knees mix some of your lotion with a good handful of sugar and rub it on your dry skin. after you've rubbed it in well and it feels like you've exfoliated some of the dry skin off, rinse with warm water, follow with cool water, and reapply a good protion of regular lotion. You can do this daily to keep your knees from getting all spotty.
