Default am I old for a dancer?

I'm 27 now and I'm wondering if that's considered on the "older side of the spectrum" for a dancer. I'm thinking that I need to switch clubs, because most of the girls I work with are from about 21 to 25 and I feel paranoid at times that I don't "mesh" with the girls. I know I'm very attractive but I feel I might be losing out to money because I'm more mature.

Change your focus to older customers. You have conversation, whereas alot of younger girls do not.

I hope not because I'm older than you.

But if you think you aren't making money because of your age, I think you're using your age as a crutch. I love that most of the girls I work with are younger. I don't consider that a liability at ALL!

I don't do well in spite of my age. I do well because of it. I am not afraid to talk to a much older guy and I don't rmeind him of his granddaughter. Now if I were an old lady, it'd be different, but late 20s/early 30s is perfectly fine, imo.

One of the hottest and coolest dancers I have ever had the pleasure of working with was 34 or 37. She made more money than anyone else in the club, too.

Genetics were on her side, she didn't look that old, but she was incredibly sensuous, and her experience level gave her a serious advantage.

Nah, you are about mid-career for your age. You probably have another 10-15 years before you really have to consider another line of work. Especially if you are taking care of yourself and are begining cosmetic maintence.

Just like a movie star must do what she must do to keep looking good for the long haul, so must dancers. Think of dancing in terms of how long you can keep the clock stopped and you should be fine.

You're not too old at all. I didn't even start dancing until I was 30! I quit at 33. Older more established guys with more money to spend want to have some conversation....at 27 you should be able to provide that aspect of dancing. I had some great regulars I made dancing in my early 30's.
When you hit 40....then I'd consider that the older spectrum. All the women I knew in their 30's made good money.
Use your age to your advantage, don't feel weird about it at all.

There is a desire in every man to do mature women, I agree with Djoser as at my club the best dancer (in terms of making money) is the oldest, in her 30's. As mentioned before as age catches up you should go more for older customers, they allso tend to spend more money

I'm 27 too. People think I am a lot younger so sometimes if I'm feeling cheeky, I'll claim to be 25

Thumbs up Re: am I old for a dancer?

i think south florida has alot more younger dancers then say manhattan where im at. here most of the girls are in they're mid 30's or older [they just dont look it in the dark lighting and keep up with plastic surgery and botox] and older men or men of class prefer it, you must be able to hold a conversation. vegas too has alot of older girls. its all about how good you keep yourself up, skin toned and body tight. think about our biggest sex symbol now, pam anderson is 38 and men love her. your still a baby.

No way. The hottest and most popular dancer at my club is 46, and she looks her age, but in a good way. Her body is tight and toned, but she has a certain attractive softness to her that more mature women have. Her face has lines, but they look distinguished. Customers constantly dis me to hang out with her. Sometimes I actually wish I looked older. Customers are always telling me I look young... MOFO, I'M TWENTY-FUCKIN-FIVE!

I started at 23 and I have only improved as I have become older! I feel like a woman now not a girl (back when I was 23). The younger dancers are not competition to me.

I'm 27 going 28 and can usually pass off as younger in the club... guys are forever loving the fact that I love the fact that I'm older (I actually can't wait to reach my 30s)... I always tell them I can't wait to hit my 30s! Why? As I have found that I am only getting better with age like a good wine

Even if they guess older (if I open my mouth and speak I can 'sound' more mature than my actual age) I am never offended. I just tell them whilst I am younger than that age I wouldn't mind being that age.

I found being younger was more of a hinderance as alot of guys would be conscience of the fact that I would be around the age of their daughter.. now they don't feel so self-conscious around me.

I can't wait for 30 either. I sometimes tell guys I am. I'll be 29 in a month. Close enough.

People expect you to look good at 22. Not 30. So if I'm a 30 year old hottie, I'll be thrilled.

I'm actually finding that alot of women are WOMEN at 30 compared to being GIRLS at 22 therefore I personally find alot of older women (late 20s onwards) to be HOT. They are usually more 'sure' of themselves and do not have all the 'hang ups' girls have (or what I call "young issues").

Goodness, even Hollywood (in my perception) is starting to notice that female actors are hot to trot (bankable) when they reach 30 instead of the young ones.

My only thing is that I find it hard to approach male customers below the age of 25... it's a totally different generation to me.. they're alien to me.

It also makes me laugh when I hear other dancers go "I'm getting old.." and then they say that they are going 23.. I then reveal to them I'm 27 going 28 which shocks them a bit (esp. if I havn't revealed my age to them yet).

i started dancing at 25. granted, i look about 10 years younger, so to me age really is just a number, but i don't think the mid/late 20s is a bad time to start dancing. on the contrary, you know men's mindgames, you know yourself pretty well, and you're able to maintain clear limits under a wide range of circumstances. 19 year olds cannot say the same. so as long as you look good bodywise and learn hustle skills (readily available at this site), you will do very very well as a 20ish dancer. old guys will love you because you can talk to them; young guys will love you because you are a hot older chick, and women will love you because you can figure out how to talk to them without seeming like a threat.

mid20s is about the best time to be a dancer, IMO.

No, you are definitely not "too old", even if you are a couple of years older than the girls in your club. Use your maturity to your advantage. A lot of older men like the fact that I am 32 because I can converse more on their level...they feel that they are talking to a woman rather than a kid.
Take good care of yourself. I find that exercise is the #1 thing that will keep you younger and healthier more than anything else. Drink lots of water, eat healthy, don't smoke, and avoid long periods of time out in the sun. If you take care of yourself then you will not only have the looks of someone much younger, but also the energy level as well. I am 32 but look 22. I have had 21 year old boys ask me if I am old enough to work at the club in the first place! Once I let them know I am a 32 year old mother of a 4 year old boy, they can't believe it. Then they want to have a dance with me, the MILF! Ha ha ha!

    HAHAHAHAHAHA.

in a few years you're going to think back on this and laugh at yourself. i went through that at 25, 26, 27, 28 and i'm sure i will again when i turn 29. and the money just gets easier and easier... the tradeoff for youth is experience and confidence. confidence = greenbacks!

also... don't forget to remind guys how your sex drive has been getting crazier as you get older. i love to tell them that at the rate i'm going, i'll be arrested for bad behavior before i even hit my peak.

I hope not, i'm 27! I have been dancing since 17 and i am now starting to notice my age also. I don't feel too old yet, though i am serious now about setting myself up to do something else in the future. I don't want to dance for too many more years, i am definetely more than halfway through my stripping career.

STOP IT !!!! 27 isn't "mature" or old .If you are making money then stay put. I'm 30 and am making more $$$ than ever and we have girls mid to late 30's still working and making a lot of money. I think we make more than the youngsters.A lot of men prefer women to girls.

Actually, my research has shown that most of the women in the top %5 of income earners in this industry are between 28 and 35.

A woman I work with is 42. She started dancing when she was 35.

She makes more money then many of the young ones, and she looks damn good.

    Sweet!

I think it's so funny when guys say, "Wow, you look good for 29!" Jesus Christ, if you don't look good when you're 29, something is wrong.

Too old for a dancer isn't determined by a number but by fitness, looks, and attitude. As long as you have those things going for you and a happy customer base, you're doing great. And you don't have to worry about this at 27, to be sure.

LMAO! So true, I have heard this when I tell people I'm 28, um yeah, like I'm so over the hill.

I totally use my age as an advantage. I'm wiser, smarter, and more experienced at hustling than the younger girls. I usually have a good ability to read my custy and if I think they want someone younger then I just tell them I'm younger. It's easy to shave off 3 or 4 years.

I have atleast another 7 years before I am going to start thinking it's time to retire.
