    Tanning...tons of dots!!???

    Hey everyone,
I have been tanning in beds for the first time ever and have gone 3 times in the last week for 5 minutes each time and today I noticed I developed a zillion browinsh red dots ALL OVER my legs and only legs.

What is that? Is it okay? When will it go away? Help! Advice please.

    THANX!

Are they itchy? It could just be a heat rash, In this case, I would advise NOT tanning until they are gone, and building yourself up slowly to a higher tanning time.
Or, maybe they are just freckles. I get them when I start tanning too.

They're not sunspots, like old people get on their hands, are they? I stopped tanning when I started getting tiny little blistery lump things on my legs.

Are you using a bronzer lotion? Certain bronzing lotions caused me to get little brown specks all over me, not sure if it was because I had dry skin or what. But, that could be the cause.

It must be a a reaction to the bronzer I used (different than the first two times) because they're not raised or itchy or anything...just THERE. Sigh...I guess I'll wait until Wednesday to go back. Last time I went was Sunday. Do you you gals think that's long enough to wait?

Once again, thank you all so much for the help!

OK,this can be one of several things.

    One : Heat rash.
Two : Reaction to the lotion.
Three : Your skin adjusting to the new external stimulant.

People who tan for the very first time ever, will sometimes get weird skin reactions and they will go away.I have been tanning for the last twelve years.I can't live without tanning.

I must admit...I think I'm already addicted to tanning. I already notice I feel a lot better and it's so relaxing. I can't wait to work up to 15/20 minutes. My boyfriend is really turned on by my darkening bum.

    Disclaimer: Don't try this.

There's a tanning bed at my work and I somethimes tan twice a day.

It has been scientifically proven that the UV rays enhance the mood.

G-d that would be so awesome. Whenever I get in a sucky mood I "take 15" and go outside. The sun is my friend.

...and I don't think I could tan twice a day. My body would probably go wacky.

Had my very first tanning experience last night at LA Tan. I'm a complete neophyte. Fortunately a friend (a dancer) recommended I cover the fun parts with a sock! Now I'm curious if this will even work on me, as I generally get red, not tan. I'm going to give it three, 10-minute visits and see where I end up. I must say I felt weird--relaxed?--after getting irradiated last night. I got home and promptly fell asleep around 9 p.m., which is quite early for me. I did make a point of drinking a lot of water before bed. Oh, and I also bought a bottle of skin moisterizer from the tanning place. As of today, I've not had any itching or other adverse reactions.

Tinea versicolor is a fungual infection , webmd it. it had a ton of info there

    i've had it though

you basically have to just stay out of the tanning bed.
