Are you going to restrict yourself to magazine work or are you willing to be paid for website modelling as well (where the pics will be used on a website)? Just a thought.

You may want to set up a profile at the numerous online model sites:
    OneModelPlace
    NetModel
    ModelMayhem
    HotAussieModels
    OzModel
    Model Attic

Then 'advertise' yourself via the forums at these places that you are seeking paid work only - no TFT/P/CD.

You may want to come up with your own rates as well as not all photographers have set pay rates.

Also, consider entering various "sports model" competitions locally. They can be a way to get yourself "out there" and seen esp. if you happen to win the events (make it to the finals)... some of the better known ones are Miss Hawaiian Tropic, Miss Calendar Girl Australia, Miss Formula Fever, The V8 Supermodel Search... and so on.

If you're talking about Picture & People magazines, Ian Dare @ is a photogapher for both of them. He's based in South Australia but he does occasionally travel, and he will sometimes fly girls over if they have the right look.

Marc Wilde ( www.marcwilde.com ) is another photographer that does those two magazines. He's local to me tho' he does travel as well. I've worked with him for anything in re: People and Picture magazine.

Sounds great. Don't forget to post a few for your friends here at SW, or at least a link to a photo host site of some of them, like photobucket.com or others.

Misha ... have you worked with Peter Trainer? I am just asking as I have been polietly informed by various reliable sources to stay the hell away from him unless I do want to be ripped off (not be paid the full amount for centerfold, covers, etc spreads in magazines) or not be able to do any nude work due to signing a contract (btw, he won't give you a copy which is a big no-no - all models should have a copy of any model releases or any contracts even if it is TFT, TFP, TFCD) making yourself exclusive to him (in re: nude work).

Also, adult magazine work is a limited medium within Australia. You may want to instead be open to internet/web site modelling as well. Of course this doesn't apply if you are going to do non-adult work (and if you want to do non-adult work it pays not be look like a porn star nor do too much adult work as that will work against you).

I did a test shoot for him but then was also given info about him from someone else. Shame because he's a brilliant photographer! I still haven't got copies of my pics so that part rings true as also the thing about being exclusive seemed to be what he was saying.

He is a great photographer ...just a crappy businessman. I've heard nothing good about him from alot of sources when I inquired about him recently. Unfortunately Jow, you will never see those pics again.....and do not be surprised if they turn up somewhere within or outside of Australia in some mag or other.. best of luck in trying to get them As for being based in Sydney at one time, I have no idea. I just know to stay away from him.

I don't actually want the pics, I'm not going to use them for anything so I'm not bothered. I doubt they'll be used either as they were just a test and I was clothed (-:

I can second Paul Hart (worked with him years ago and recently worked with him this year)
    Marc Wilde (people/picture photographer)
    Whitezulu Photography ( www.whitezuluphotography.com )
<--- My avatar comes from a shoot I did with Barry (whitezulu photography)
Blue Horizon Photography (for www.pantyhoseaustralia.com )
    Tony @ http://automodelz.net-model.com

Please do list the good photographers that you have worked with be they amateur, semi-professional or professional as this will be of invaluable assistance to the rest of us

Since I do the modelling 'on the side' (hence the reason I call myself an amateur model) I can only list a small amount due to not working with alot nor taking on alot of modelling work.

Just a quick alert that there appears to be a guy going around emailing and
messaging models, telling them he is a US Producer with a number of films in the
pipeline (this is not true film company talk). He gives his name and company,
and invites the model to look him up on imdb.com. The company matches a company
in Hong Kong (not the US), and the producer name matches an established line
producer who has no involvement with the Hong Kong company.

This individual proceeds to attempt to talk dirty to the models once he has
    them on messenger.

As always, be alert when communicating with prospective clients, and do not let
offers of fame and fortune cloud your judgement.

    Kind regards,
    Jason @ Oz Model.
Just passing on a warning for anyone on the OzModel site - highly recommend getting a profile there

You probably mean Musecube. I'm on most of those except OMP (really should think about getting another profile there as I kinda 'lost' my last one) and ausmodels. I'm also on Hot Aussie Models.

Whilst I want to have plenty of exposure, I do not want to have too many online modelling portfolios as I'm having trouble updating the ones I have

Funny, I just blogged about this over at myspace. I got an email from him too this week. I am considering it - I really found him good to work with when i did a test shoot with him a few months back. I haven't read the model release forms yet though so I'm not totally sure... I'm trying to weigh up the pros and cons I guess...
