Default should I admit to having a "real" job?

    Hi there,
I have decided to audition at a local nude bar, looking to pick up 1-2 nights a week. MY question is how up-front should I be about my "real" life? I have a college degree, a boyfriend and a 9-5 job, and I'm not sure if these things will make me less appealing in the eyes of a club owner. I can keep my mouth shut about the first two, but the job I feel I have to be upfront about because it could mean running a little late some days as I make the treck from one place to another (night shift starts at 7pm and the club is roughly an hours drive from my job). The club is pretty small, 7 girls on a slow night and 14 on a friday and there is only one shift per night.

    Any suggestions?

It's a strip club.. nobody expects you to be on time. Ha. *eyeroll*

    They don't ask...don't tell. :/

Well at my club we have a 3 shift/week minimum of work. But, if you are in school, or have a "real" job they only require 2 shift/week. Some clubs are very understanding. Hell, at my club they WANT you to be doing more than just dancing.

Why would you want to tell them about your "real" job?

We had a three shift minimum at my former club as well, regardless of other priorities. Now how well this was enforced i can not say. I worked it all because i needed to. They had also made a "rule" that people who were in school needed to show rosters in order to get out of day shifts. That was never enforced though lol.
I would say that if they ask ...you can say you have an outside job to explain why you may run late... but no reason to disclose anything else about the job(location, description...).
    Good luck!

They've never minded when I tell them about mine.

Thanks for the advice! I'll avoid offering any unecessary information.

yeah, there's nothing wrong with telling them you have another job. Other than the hours you work at your job there is no reason to give them any other details about it.

As for the club, all they need to know is the minimum to schedule you.

As for the customers, Don't tell them crap about your "real life" it destroys the fantasy and could create stalkers. I found that if I'm single, no kids, college student, "just me" type a girl to the custies then I make more money. The minute I tell them I have a serious boyfriend they shut down. Thats great if I'm trying to get rid of them but not when I'm trying to get a vip out of them. Just be vague and cute and go from there.
