    Candy Store

Ok, so tonight I go out to a local Phoenix club, a place called the Candy Store. Usually its pretty fun and laid back the dancers always pretty nice. except occassionally when individual dancers decide they are better than the others and charge twice the amount for a dance than the others. But that's neither here nor there, my experience tonight was rather odd. I had about $200 in cash on me on a Wednesday night, sitting next to me on the partition on the booth and not a single dancer gave me a second look nor was I offered a dance. I was there for an hour and a half, i mean come on I know I'm no Heath Ledger but neither do I look like Quasimodo nor am I really over weight what gives ladies?

you must not have looked very approachable for some reason.

It's not about your physical appearance either. You know we don't care what you look like.

Did you tip the stage? Did you take the initative to ask any girls for dances? That tends to help matters.

I know this "no attention" phenomenon is becoming a common complaint in clubs anymore, and while I agree that the ladies should be asking for the dances, a lot of guys intent on spending money could solve it by getting off their can and asking themselves.

Once you've established yourself as a spender (just having or showing off money doesn't count), you should have no trouble getting attention. Contrary to popular opinion (and I have no clue how it got so popular) the girls can't read your mind.

I've seen this happen before. I guy much like yourself in that situation was in the bar, he tipped me vell on stage. When I got off stage before I could get to him I was grabbed for a LD. I go on stage again, he tips me well again. I get off stage and I get asked for another dance by a regular. This time I am able to make it over to him to thank him and let him know that I had a dance to do and would be back over if he wanted. I ended up sitting with my reg for a bit before the dance and I watched all the other girls ignore this guy, and he had a pile of money on the table. When I came back from my LD he was gone.

I felt bad that I didn't get to him but I felt even worse that nobody else did.

I've been there, money burning a hole in my pocket, nobody to spend on, sometimes you just need to take a little bit more initiative. Tip the stage (big if possible), make eye contact, ASK for a dance, look approachable. If all else fails pocket the money for a future trip.

Oh and I've been to the Candy Store too, home of the $5 lap dance, can't beat the price.

    oh wait, $5 lap dances?

that explains it....they are not used to hustling. They don't have to.

No way, they ask for $10...OMFG!! Maybe your attitude about dance cost is making you undesirable. I work in Phoenix, at our club dances are $10. The fact that the Candy Store still charges only $5 a song is crazy. Maybe you're unaware but most other cities charge $20 and up. Sorry, anyhow...next time be more assertive.

Phoenix is a wanna dance town, and historically girls go from table to table asking guys for dances. That is how money is made there. If you were at Hi-Liter or Bandaids you would have constantly been approached.

Candy Store is a busy club and customers are used to tipping above the $5.

You are starting to get dancers in Phx who are looking for big money over the traditional table to table hustle. These girls are flaky to say the least. They don't like what they do and just want quick money. I would bet a lot of these girls are not native Phoenix dancers and are not used to or comfortable with high volume table dancing. They come from cities/states where dancers find several guys to make their night, and that doesn't work with lower price dances.

I wouldn't ask the girls to come to your table. ALL Arizona dancers are SUPPOSED to make the rounds to ALL the tables asking for dances. I would contact the GM at Candy Store and tell him what is going on, and that you were with friends who all had money to spend and were not approached. Tell him you won't be coming back. See what happens.

I get this all the time. I'm a young looking guy, who always gets dances btw, who is ignored a lot. Why? I don't know or care. There are enough girls who give me attention to drown out the ones that don't. Being ignored by 20 girls is forgotten with one that asks. (And yes, i've witnessed girls sit with other, older, guys for an hour without getting dances while i can't get the time of day...). I've also had experiences where the dancers ignore me, one asks, i get dances from her and all of a sudden the others start asking. NO THANKS!!! lol Remember, ur the patron. It's ur dollars they need to earn. It's a business. if they don't want ur business, don't force them to accept profits. It's their loss.

btw... I've also found it's very good to get in good with a waitress. When mine's in, she always makes sure i have company.

Dancers, before the start of your shift, if one girl is bitchy and complaining about the management or customers etc, does that effect everyone for the rest of the night?

Thanks for the advice all, somethings to consider. Yes I grew up in Phx so I'm used to the "old ways" of how the clubs used to be. But all things change, thanks again all.

$10 dances? There is a heaven on earth. I'd probably buy the same amount of dances, but they would all be doubles.
