Default Do You Use The "Sitting On My Lap" Hustle?

This seems to be the most common hustle in the clubs I frequent.

Girl will come up, plop right into your lap, start chatting/hustling.

Not regulars, girls you've never seen before.

Is this common elsewhere? Is it something you practice?

Kinda like anything else, for me it's ok if it's a girl I would want to plop into lap, but somewhat annoying if it's a girl I wouldn't want a dance from, and/or if it's a girl who's heavy enough to hurt my legs if she sits there for a minute or two . . . .

Hell no! It's tacky as all hell, and alot of men don't like it. It's an invasion of personal space.

So, anygirl who does it should SLOWLY ween herself off of doing this.

The only time I'll sit in a customer's lap is if there's no available chairs around at all.

I have NEVER once sat on a customers lap. It's degrading and makes you look cheap.

That's so nice to hear because I'm so sick of seeing it (sorry!). Usually it's the girls who are in too much of a hurry to even introduce themselves, the first thing they say is "wanna dance". I wonder how many customers have turned down dances because they don't like that approach!?

Sitting in laps is the norm in some club cultures. But its good to get a nod before you do that though....

yeah, I tend to ask permission, first with "Would you like company?" and then "May I sit in your lap?" unless it's super rowdy and then I ask the first question and then just plop down.
I'd like to think I can read guys well enough to tell when they don't want me, or aren't warmed up to me yet, and then I'll just pull up a chair.

About two years ago I actually did some "clinical" research on this. I got permission from several clubs to sit and observe customers reactions to certain things the dancers did. It was really funny...me sitting in a SC with a legal pad.

Anyway, one of the things I observed was the reactions of customers who had dancers ask to sit down next to them or across from them and the ones who just sat in laps. There was an overwhelming difference in how guys reacted. The majority of guys who had dancers sit across from them to talk versus sit in their lap seemed happy and had a smile on their face when she sat down. His body language opened up more consistently and he immediately showed signs of having a good time.

On the other side though, 85% of guys who had dancers plop in their lap showed immediate signs of being uncomfortable. Virtually all men physically cringed back away from the dancer the moment she sat in his lap which, by her body language, was probably unnoticable by the dancer herself. While sitting in the customer's lap, his body language became much more closed and his answers to anything she said to him was much shorter and abrupt.

Lastly, I saw the conversion rate of dancers to the same customer to be much higher in favor of the non lap-sitters as opposed to those sitting in laps. Any way I looked at it, sitting in laps proved to be a bad idea. Cinnamon is right...it's a huge invasion of personal space and also, when dancers do it, the customer has no idea what she looks like because of their posture together. In fact, it seems as though the dancer is hiding something and hence causes immediate distrust.

I don't just plop onto them.If there's nowhere at all to sit, then I'll ask them if it's OK.I'll say something like,"There's nowhere to sit,may I borrow your lap???"I always get a "yes" after I ask.

    Gawd no!
    It screams T A C K Y especially in our club!!

For one, why would they buy a lap dance if you're already in their lap?
Secondly, as a customer, I wouldn't want a girl sitting on my lap if I had never met her before. I try to put myself in their shoes sometimes and wonder if my approaches are in sync with what I would like to experience.
The "sitting in your lap" routine is definitely something I would not like as a customer, and as a dancer, it would make me uncomfortable.
They have to PAY to get that close to me.

When customers want you to sit on their laps, they make it obvious -- scooting their chairs back, patting their knee, what have you. If they don't do this, I don't sit on them. Lap-sitting has a lot of disadvantages. For one thing, you have your back to the customer, or have to crane around to see them. For me, I'm very tall, so if I sit on you're lap I'm going to tower over you; this seems to intimidate most guys and make it harder to sell dances. Also, I learned at the DW seminar that it's hard to use rapport-building body language when you're on someone's lap.

There are a few girls at my club who use this style of hustle. It sort of seems like they're staking the guy out. There's no way he can escape, because they're sitting on him. So if he wants them to get up, he has to buy a dance. I see this work, but guys usually only buy the one dance for their ransom, and then run away.

Oh, I hate this! It's like the customers have been "claimed." Most of the girls who do this don't get dances because they will sit there even when the customers are clearly not interested.

Shit...I never thought about it. If a guy says he'd like the next song I sit down on his lap, rub his back etc. until the next song starts. But now, reading these posts I'm rethinking this. Huh? I remember back when I first started it wasn't allowed...too much contact, my how things have changed. I guess I'll back off a bit.

I introduce myself a few steps away, ask if he would like my company.... sit next to him and get to know him for a song... stand up next to him.. lean foward on the bar and smile... tease him a bit with my butt motioning toward his thigh smile again.... usually the guy ask me to give him a dance.. if not than I stradle his leg (without private part contact) and whisper "are you ready baby" that works a lot :-) if it is no then i talk to him until the end of the second song and then i tell him "i'll let you enjoy the show... see you later" and switch away to the next customer across the room of course...

I wouldn't sit on a customers lap, plus it's not allowed at our club. I will sit next to them and start my hustle, but never would I sit on their lap.

I think it makes girls look kind of desperate and too pushy.I dont do this.I think it makes it harder for a guy to get to his wallet too.

I don't think this is what is being referred to because the customer has already agreed to a dance. I for one have no problem with a dancer sitting on my lap, I just appreciate it if she asks me first.

Lap sitting per se isn't tacky, but its usually not a good move with new customers.

When my ATF or another dancer whom I've established compatibility with sits in my lap, its a great way to get me primed for dances. They know that I'm going to spend money on them.

But when some ordinary gal just plops herself down on me, its invasive and makes me feel presssured. For whatever reason, these gals seem to approach at exactly the wrong time.

In one club I go to occasionally, they have three types of seating: bar stools, regular upright chairs (as you would find in a restaurant), and about four comfortable overstuffed easy chairs. If you sit in one of these chairs, a dancer WILL sit on your lap. She then has you trapped and will hustle $20 or $30 in tips out of you before moving on.

Then the next dancer will arrive!

    Repeat until done.

So these chairs are almost always unoccupied.

Until some first-timer comes in the door. Heh. Provides some amusement for the jaded spectators at the bar.
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.

I learned a long time ago there's no sense getting all riled up every time a bunch of idiots give you a hard time. In the end, the universe tends to unfold as it should. Plus I have a really large penis. That keeps me happy.
