    Default Eye Makeup

Several people have PM'ed me about some of my eye makeup, so I decided to put them all in one place. If you have any questions, please let me know!

    The first one is this:

    MAC Paint in Untitled
    MAC CCB in Hush
    MAC Golden Lemon
    MAC Golden Olive
    MAC Forest Green
    Maybelline Mascara

After applying the Paint and CCB base, I put Golden Lemon on the inner corners (covering about 1/3 of the eye lid). Next, I sectioned in (with gentle patting with a brush) Golden Olive for the second 1/3 of the lid, followed by Forest Green on the outer V and blended into the crease. You can't see it in this pic, but the "liner" of this look is in 3 sections as well. The outer lower lash line is Forest Green, the middle lower lash is Golden Olive and then the inner corner connects with the upper inner corner of Golden Lemon. Blend well (light to dark) without blending the lower lash line (makes it too smudgey).

    Urban Decay Primer Potion
    Max Factor 2000 Calorie Lash
    Milani Garden Mist
    Milani Illusion
    Milani Clover
    Milani Java Bean

After applying and blending the Concealer, Foundation and Primer Potions, I applied Garden mist on the inner 1/3 of my eye...followed by Illusion on the middle 1/3 and Clover on the outer 1/3 and into the crease. Illusion is then put on the inner corner and pulled 1/2 down under the bottom lashes. Java bean is used as liner for the bottom outer half of the eye. Blend all of the colors slightly together. Apply mascara...and viola!

    MAC Orange (eyeshadow)
    MAC Swimming (eyeshadow)
    Maybelline Sky High Curl Mascara

If you use MAC Orange without a paint base, it's actually quite "sheer" or light. So, I put the Orange on the outside 1/2 of my eye and then I put Swimming on the inside 1/2 of my eye. I kind of do a "reverse crease" and pull the green from the corner into the crease over the orange. I then take a smudging stick and use that to apply the "liner". I use Swimming as the liner as well. Line all the way around the eyes. Put on the mascara and you're ready to roll!

    Awesome!!!
You are very talented with make-up!
    Are you a make-up artist?
Your eyes are definitely greener than mine, mine have more brown on the inside, but have green around the very edges. But similar - I am definitely trying this look too!
Definitely post more if you get time!

Thanks, everyone! I'm not a make-up artist, although I've been tempted to go apply at MAC. I like to play with make-up and it's something that I've always loved to do.

The most important thing in applying long-lasting, color punching eye shadows is to use a good base (Urban Decay Primer Potion and the combo of MAC Paints and Cream Color Bases are the best).

If you are wanting to blend multiple colors, then you apply the colors in sections on your eyes where you want them...then with a blending brush you blend from the lightest color into the darkest color. Blending is actually very easy...you just have to layer the eye shadow colors right.

Another tip is eyeliner. Eye liner makes or breaks a look. If you are using bright bold colors, you can really make your eyes pop more by using a colored liner (which is why MAC Pigments are so great...they are extremely versatile and can be used in any way you can imagine). Using the standard brown/black liner is good on some looks, but like the purple/pink colors I used, it takes away from the color punch. Utilizing the purple right around the actual eye area helps pop the eyes.

If you use a solid one color (say, using pink on the whole lid and not really going with a crease color) you can line the whole eye with black and it will look stunning. But, using a brown/black liner should be used for more "natural" looks and blended well.

I have some pics of my eye shadow combo from today, but they are uploading way to big, so I'll have to play with re-sizing them. I'll get them up later.

If anyone else wants to add their make-up pics here, feel free to do so!!

Let me know if you have any questions or problems with reproducing any of the eye make-up I post.

I bet some gray colors would look good too on you.I loke the purple most(wow),but like how you done the eyeliner on the orange eyeshadow pic.

Grey doesn't really do much for me. I've tried it in about every way and it seems to kill my eye color...dunno why.

But, grey clothing washes me out, as well...so I'm just someone who cannot wear grey.

    Wow that looks beautiful!
Question though... MAC is so expensive and I was wondering is it REALLY worth it? I really want that look but oh my goodness 14 dollars for an eyeshadow is pricey!

IME, MAC make-up has the best pigment and lasting power. You can go with other make-up, but it doesn't last as long. Milani makes some comparable (slightly) colors to MAC and you can always use those...but Maybelline/Loreal/etc just don't have the staying power as MAC (I have others like Stila and Urban Decay which are also really good...I just am partial to MAC).

But, no matter what brand you go with...always spend some money on good e/s base (UDPP or CCB+Paint are both good).

I love MAC stuff, and I've heard about that membership, but what do you need to prove that you're a dancer? Would a cabaret license work, or is there some other kind of form I could use? That membership would be very useful to me.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.

You can use a dancer's license and one more form of "dancer ID". Me, I just made up a business card with my picture on it, my stage name and a paystub from the club I danced at.

Oooh! I love the last look you posted with the violet. So smashing!!!

You should *definitely* look into applying at MAC. I am a make-up junkie. I am always on either makeupalley.com, makeup411.com, or makeuptalk.com. Also, spektra.net has a lot of great tutorials using MAC.

I have to get over to the MAC store near me soon. I have a Sephora and an Ulta pretty close, but MAC is a bit of a drive.

Also, I *love* Urban Decay Primer Potion. I read so many great things about it, I decided to give it a try. I LOVE it!!!
