    Default Soft skin

I was wondering what you would recommend to get that really soft, fresh silky skin?

Do a search, this has been talked about many many many many times.

Exfoliation is the key, then a good body wash, an in shower moisturiser and then after shower moisturiser.

This is gonna sound stupid but what's the best way to exfoliate? Can you suggest a some good body washes, in shower moisturizers, and after shower moisturizers? Lol... I'm new to beauty regimens and I'm trying to get a good one going.

I use Armani lotion. It must work very much because the other day my boyfriend was petting my skin (with his eyes closed) and said, "Why do you cover up so much? I like this satin nightgown but I like your skin better."

Honey, that IS my skin. XD

    And St. Ives rawks.

I use the Dove expholiation body wash with a puff. Then I use the Olay in shower moisturiser then St Ives body moisturiser after, my skin is so silky its amazing. I constantly have customers comment on how silky my skin is.

The Olay body wash with body butter ribbons is amazing stuff as well, followed with the Olay in shower moisturiser then St Ives following your shower. You should apply the after shower moisturiser as soon as you get out of the shower because your pores are still open.

Another thing that helps keep silky skin is tanning in the tanning bed with the right tanning lotion this also helps big time with the silky skin.

I know someone who uses that Dove shower lotion. When you come out of the shower, you don't even have to put on lotion bc it's like lotion in the shower. But put some on after if you want that extra. Also, for rough spots like knees, feet, elbow...olive oil over night.

The dove stuff is great, but for that extra silky skin using stuff after the shower as well works wonders. I dont need to use stuff after showering but I still do because it does wonders. Just please please please PLEASE do not put lotion on BEFORE going on stage... its dissrespectful to fellow dancers

Ok, another question. What's a good face moisturizer. I was thinking about neutrogena spf 15. What do you think?

Hope in a Jar by Philosophy.

They have a couple of versions besides the original .

There is Hope in a Bottle for those who are prone to breakouts. They also have a Hope in a Jar for dry skin and When Hope is Not Enough with a spf 25.

This is gonna sound stupid but what's the best way to exfoliate?
A body scrub. I like the ones made with sea salt.

Bath and Body works has THE BEST sugar scrubs I've tried and being a bath products junkie I've tried a lot. Plus their Shea butter lotions in the tubs works wonderfully for leaving your skin feeling like new velvet. I use both religiously, plus they smell good.

LUSH exfoliation soaps are alwaysss raved about! They really smooth your skin out.

I use Biotherm's Body Balm...amazing stuff. It really moisturizes.

Anything will work good, as long as you're dedicated. Doesn't matter if it's cheap or expensive.

I usually exfoliate with a loofah and some exfoliating salts that have oils in them, then if I'm taking a bath, I put some sort of bath oils or baby oil under the running water, it makes my skin SO soft. Just make sure you get all the excess oil off your skin after the shower, otherwise you'll feel greasy later on. After I shower or bathe I lather up with Vaseline brand body lotion. I used to use the Healthy Complexion one (which i got SO many comments on how soft my skin was when I used that one) But ever since I became really paranoid about getting skin cancer (my grandpa died of it) I've been using the Renew and Protect, which doesn't leave me feeling as soft, but I like the fact that it has SPF in it

I really liked Eucerin's spf 30 for sensitive skin. It has alot of zinc in it though I would only use it if I were wearing makeup. (I currently don't use moisterizer although I do use obagi spf 35 sunscreen)

For nighttime I liked Eucerin Q10 cream.

This is one of my best attributes. Asian cultures stress skin care above other beauty rituals. My grandmother from Japan was always saying to use lotion and hand cream...so it's been passed along family lines here about good skincare.

My ritual is to take a bath...I am not a shower person, so I take a soothing warm bath and use bath gels, NOT soap. Once or twice a week, I scrub myself with BLISS SPA HOT SALT TREATMENT...this is an absolute heavenly treatment....it warms up when you rub it on your skin and is best done when your skin is dry before you get into the shower or the tub. Then I slather on this lotion from NIVEA I've been using since it came out...BODY FIRMING LOTION, occasionally use one of those cellulute treatments ( try L'Oreal's new day and night cellulite gels with a firm massage and they work!) and that's what I do for silky smooth skin.

Don't forget to do your feet and your hands too...I use Sally Hansen's hand creams and foot cream.

It sounds kind of simplistic, but right after I get out of the shower when my skin is still damp, I use baby oil and it works wonderfully. There's something about putting it on when you still have a few beads of water on your skin from the shower that really works wonders.

I have that super soft skin that makes guys say, "wow, I can't believe how soft you are... hey, John, come feel this girl, isn't that amazing? Can you believe how soft she is?"

My secret is this: I never put anything on my skin I wouldn't put in my mouth. When you use lotion it may make your skin softer right away, but all the chemicals in the lotion are absorbed into your skin and mess it up over time (consider that a way non-scientific explanation). I put nothing on my skin most of the time. In the winter I'll put olive oil on my knees/elbows, and when I have it around I'll use a white spruce olive oil.

There's no way I could not put lotion on my body. I've been using lotion ( the Nivea stuff) since it came out years ago and my skin has never looked firmer or more beautiful. And nearing the age of 40, I can testify that no lotion has messed up my skin over time. That's just my opinion but I've never heard of anyone's skin getting messed up over time because of lotion use. My grandmother was 98 years old when she passed away recently and she used Jergens for decades and you would have sworn her skin was like a baby's.

I use a scrubby textured body sponge thing and then toss on some baby oil like was mentioned earlier or I use Johnson's Soothing Naturals lotion.

The best stuff in my opinion is Johnsons and Johnsons GEL formula. It is like baby oil for adults and it is not as greasy. This stuff makes my skin feel so soft and smooth i promise! I would not put it in the tub though because it could stick to the bottom and cause you to slip if you shower sometime afterward so use caution.

Well, then why do you keep having to put lotion on your skin to keep it soft? If your skin would be dry and yucky without it then it's done something to your skin (your skin is chemically dependent on Nivea?).

Right after I take a shower I HAVE to put lotion on cuz the shower rinses away all the natural body oils you produce. I only apply it RIGHT after the shower, then I'm good all day long. Not until my next shower do I have to apply. And when I take a bath I usually use bath oils so I don't even use any lotion otherwise I feel like a grease ball. If I didn't use lotion at all, I would dry up......I've accidentally gone without lotion before (forgot to bring it on a 5 day vacation) and my skin was SO dry!
