    Default Yay. :D

I found a business (thank you!) to sponsor me for my stay in Australia so I can work in Australia and... get my citizenship!

This has really been an uphill battle and I almost gave up a couple times.

I didn't know I didn't have the proper visa until I applied for a TFN (Tax file number) in Australia. When I clicked apply on the TFN website, it said I had not a visa for work. Then I looked at my visa which I never checked - I had a visitors visa!!! 3 month stay! And I was already half up! So I went to work and asked them if they could help me. They said they didn't know but that I was FIRED until they could tell me. But that if I was getting my working visa, I could work with them temporarily until the visa was filed. So as long as I had someone agree to be my sponsor I could continue to work with Minx.

During this time, I lost $1200 on a bus when my boyfriend was holding my money in his wallet and left it behind accidentally. This was ON OUR WAY to put a bid on a BEAUTIFUL apartment in the city for a DAMN cheap price. Needless to say, I didn't get the apartment.

Also, I can start on my path toward citizen once I get my permanant residency. I can only get that by HAVING AN ADDRESS...which I can only get by HAVING MONEY... which I can only get by HAVING A JOB...which I can only get by BEING SPONSORED..which I can only get by HAVING A JOB. See the problem?

My boyfriend replaced my money and I'm apartment searching again. I found some nice ones a little closer to the suburbs but much quieter. (GoldCoastGirl How DO you sleep in that NOISE at 5am?! It's worse than LA!) The rent is extremely cheap but the apartments are unfurnished... but I need my own furniture anyway!

So I got another job with a business on this site that deals in live shows... they can expose themselves if they wish. I can understand if they wouldn't since they'd think a bunch of Americans can be sponsored by them. But they agreed to sponsor me.

So with this I can get the other work (clubs) and live in my apartment in my new country spending time with my new boyfriend.

I'm on my way to becoming an Australian citizen!!!

PS: Remember the book Strip City? I was thinking of doing the same thing only WORLD wide. I have a friend in Jersulem who wants me to visit and I want to go to Japan. Not really to 'bank', but to pay for my own travel around the world and write a novel on it. Ideas? Thoughts?

Thats really cool that someone sponsered you! The book sounds like a great idea too!
One thing at a time though - save money for your citizenship stuff. I married and English guy once and I remember we had to pay for all sorts of stuff until his citizenship got approved. English people have it the easiest, other people I know from elsewhere have been hit up for alot more costs so just make sure you've always got something in the bank just incase (-: Once approved it will still take 2 years for you to get citizenship but you can leave after the first year (i forget for how long now...)

I'm definitely going to save up my money for this. Can you give me an estimate on how much you think it'd be, like a rounding of your partner's citizenship? I know it still takes two years but I'm willing to wait for this country. I LOVE THIS COUNTRY! XD

lilithmorrigan, if "sponsoring" works the same as it does in America then if you get fired or laid off or are not working for them (or quit maybe, i think) then that company is obligated by law to immediately pay your entire expenses to send you back to your home country (assuming you did not immediately find another sponsor).

Well, the sponsor is someone from this site I've actually been chatting with for awhile about working for them... so lets hope that A. It doesn't work that way and B I don't get fired! XD
