He might have an acute case of sleep apnea.

Tell him to go to the doctor. They may have a surgery for that. It would be worth the investment lol..

Snoring tends to be caused by one of four things: sleep apnea as mentioned above, temporary excessive relaxation of the throat and palate (for example, after a night of drinking), excessive tissue in the throat, nasopharynx, and palate (overweight people), or laxity of the tissues. I know there have been trials of using botox in the soft palate to "firm" it up and reduce the laxity and thus the snoring. There are also surgeries to tighten and open things up as well. If he's heavy, losing weight helps. I highly recommend seeing a doctor (probably an ENT). I also suggest some sleep studies to rule out sleep apnea, since it can be life threatening.

i actually broke up with a guy due to his snoring. he had sleep apnea. his snoring was so bad he would actually stop breathing and wake up gasping for breath and i couldn't take it anymore. it's very hard on your body and heart to sleep like he does, but he wouldn't go and get one of those sleeping masks which he should have. not to mention it was so awful i couldn't even sleep on the couch with the door closed to the bedroom because i could still hear it... so i got no sleep.

You need to do is take him and have him tested and what it wrong with him.
I do believe that it cauesesprbblem with way in the throat that floders of thw movement when he snores and just have him sleep onthe sides .

I havent read the replies so forgive me if I am wrong, but he may have a deviated septum. Thats corrected with surgery.

Does he sleep with his mouth completely open all the time? Is his breathing very "breathy" ? If so, his only option my be surgery.

Ok, this may sound creepy, but it works for a while. When my bf is snoring and I just can't take it, I cover his nostrils with my hand. Not like I'm going to kill him in his sleep or anything. He'll sigh and stop snoring long enough for me to fall back asleep. When I told him about this, we had a good laugh about how I was "trying to suffocate him in his sleep". We're crazy.

    ^^^ LOL

I usually just nudge him a few times. Or go, "Ayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!" loud enough to wake him and realize that he has had ME up for the last few minutes/hours.

I think that's your answer Kamryn ^ unless he's super loud, in which case you need seperate beds.

My husband snores so bad. Its usually when hes on his back so I just hit, kick, shove him into another position. Works like a charm, gets my frustration with him out and since hes sleeping he never remembers in the morning. Ive done the plug his nose thing too...
