    Default washing off your makeup

    How important is it really?
Some people say you will age faster if you don't wash your makeup off every night. Or does it just clog your pores?
I forget to do this - A LOT - but I don't want to end up looking like shit sooner than I should - LOL

I don't know if it ages you, but it definetely can clog your pores.

i have to was it off as soon as i get home, if i don't wash my make-up off, the next morning i will be pimples galore! i have quite sensitive skin though so for normal skin i think it can lead to sensitivity,, eye infections if your make-up gets rubbed into your eye overnight, and generally bad skin, i suppose the aging thing may come into play if you've been doing it for years because your skin cant breath under the make-up,

just the thought of the way my hair smells like smoke and shit when you get home from work makes me realise that's also on my skin and face. ewww

if you force yourself to wash your face evrynight you come home, like, post a reminder on your beadhead, for a week, by the end of it, it will be a habit....a good habit at that

I have the same problem, so I don't get to "forget."

If you're too lazy to wash your face at night, then just get some pre-moistened face wipes. You don't have to rinse your face after you use them. I usually wash my face after work, but if I'm too tired, then I just use a face wipe to get all the makeup off before I go to bed. Just make sure that you get pre-moistened ones because a lot of the face wipes aren't and you still need to get them wet and then rinse your face after.

Yeah its really bad for you, i've heard that every day you don't wash your face at night your skin ages 7 days...I do this a lot, so my skin is getting pretty damn old!
The wipes help, but I always run out and then get too lazy to rebuy them...I guess i'm just lazy, lol.

Washing your makeup off is very important for healthy skin.

But I have to admit I keep some of those pre moist cleansing clothes around for those nights when I have had a cocktail too many , which is rare for me but when it happens I just want to fall into bed and not take my usual hot bath after work.

They are really great for stubborn eye makeup too as a pre wash ritual.

I get zitty if I sleep with makeup on...your asleep hours are when your skin renews itself, so it might mess it up to have gunk on it.

I have cleansing cloths for lazy/drunk nights.

Is that the same as baked ziti???LOL.

Make-up consists of chemicals and sleeping with it on is detrimental for your skin.

also, if you sleep with makeup on, any gunk from your face goes onto the pillow, and then the next night, your face is laying on that same gunk...eww.

    this also makes you pimple-y

Your skin basically stews in the day's bacteria, chemicals, and general gunk as you sleep. Worth it in the end to cleanse.

I use baby wipes when I get home to wash my makeup off, works wonders and it works a hell of a lot faster then using all those liquid washes. When im feeling un-lazy I will use a cleanser after wiping it off with baby wipes. I can honestly say my face hasnt had a single zit in about 4 months(as long as i've been using the baby wipes on my face). And my face isnt dry or anything.

If you're too lazy/drunk to wash at night you could always try wearing mineral makeup for foundation at least. Leaving that on can't be nearly as bad as sleeping with studiofix on...

I cannot sleep with makeup on...I use this olive oil cleanser to remove makeup from a skin care company called DHC from Japan, then use their mild olive oil soap and toner. Even though my skin is fairly oily, this stuff doesn't not make my face greasy in the least and rinses smooth and clean for the best skin I've had in a long time. I don't wear foundation or powder, just a little bronzer...

But let me tell you, cleaning with the cleanser FIRST instead of just using a cream cleanser or soap seperately has made a big difference.

i recommend clinique acne face wash, its a pump foam wash that clears makeup off your face and treats acne at the same time. It's a great before bedtime wash, it costs about $18 but it works!

Since my skin is ultra-sensitive I ALWAYS wash my face before bed & in the morning. You should get used to doing it.

I'm one of those too lazy people, but I can't stand sleeping in my makeup. So I got makeup removing cloths from the dollar store. That is one thing I make sure I get off of my face before I go to bed. Ohterwise, my face feels funny and I breakout.

There's also one by Clearsil (or Clean & Clear) that you can get @ Duane Reade or something for $10 less. Does the same thing: remove makeup and treat acne. Whenever I'm not feeling too lazy after work, I use that. And if I have a ton of energy still, I remove the makeup, then I use St. Ive's Medicated Apricot Scrub (the one with salicylic acid).

I don't wear foundation but always use mascara and eyeliner. Will it be bad for my eyes to sleep in occasionally?

I would say yes, remove your mascara and eyeliner esp if you wear contacts. It's just a good idea to do it. Use Clinique's Take the Day Off. It's the quickest, nongreasy way to remove makeup with a cotton pad

Keeping mascara on too long suffocates the oxygen and thus kills the follicles.

Do you know of any mascara products which enrich or help grow your lashes?
