    Default A-symetrical clothes?

    Hi Girls,

I havn't begun dancing yet. I amlooking at clothes right now and am wondering why, if we are not supposed to wear A-Symetrical clothes because its not attractive to the eye, why is there SO many stripper slothes that are A-symetrical? I actually like the look myself, but so any of you girls wear these dresses? You know the ones that are slanted to the side or have a asymetrical slit? Also While we are on the subject, I see lots of outfits that do NOT look easy to get out of....sorry I don't have a pic at the moment maybe later when I have more time I'll put a link to an example. But I mean things like with buckles, lots of straps, corsets and such. They seem to be all over the dancewear sites, do most girls keep it simple?

    Thanks!
    Jezebel

Guys are attracted to symmetry (unconsciously). I think the theory is that symmetry equals health and guys are subconsciously attracted to the symmetry because they want someone in great health to be their mating partner (or something like that). Some girls at my club wear asymmetrical clothes, and I really don't think it makes a difference in their earnings at all, but who knows.

I put the asymetrical dress to the Pepsi challenge. For years, I've avoided them due to the advice of others. I saw a really cute one on ebay for next to nothing, so I bought it. I've worn it twice and have gotten so many compliments from coworkers and custies. It hasn't hurt my $$$ at all. Besides, it's not like you wear them for very long...

I used to stick witht eh assymetrical idea, but recently have gonein the opposite direction, I actually make more money with my crazy outfits that are super shirt on side to show off a leg and then are longer on the other. It could be the outftis are damn sexy or the whole a-symetrical thing doesn't matter in clubs.

The Stripper FAQ (a girl named Kiko? or something like that) is to blame for the myth! I swear.

Men like symmetry in facial features...clothes are excepted from this rule. In my opinion, anyways. I used to stick to symmetry only, but have since realized it doesn't make a difference.

There is definitely truth to the attraction to symmetry. The people that we find most attractive are those who's bodies and faces are symmetrical. (Think Brad Pitt, his face is so perfectly symmetrical...<drool>) But I don't really think that an assymetrical hem would really detract from a balanced face and body.

I wonder if there have been any studies done on this...

If the cut of the dress accentuates your best feature or gives a more flattering figure then I say go for it. But becareful because asymmetrical clothes often have the opposite effect in a lot of women's bodies.
