    Default australia?

I live in canada and dance in montreal.. and I'm making really good money from 600 to 1000$ a night and when i do a double I make over 1500$ all the time...
but lately.. I've started talking with this girl.. and she told me lap dances in australia are 90$?

plus I sort of want to move there anyway... not now because everything is good now but aussie boys are sooo hot.. ... and I'm sort of dating this drop dead gorgeous australian but his here only for an other 5 months.. and i've been with him for now 7 months i started dating him the first week he got here.. and... well you know the rest of the story..

I dont want to stop dancing if i move there
so I was wondering if anybody knew if it was any good over there..

Read the Club Chat section. There's a ton of stuff about Australia and we have a lot of Australian dancers here. I'm not an Aussie but I used to live there, and while I didn't dance there, I traveled a lot and went to uni and I can tell you it is a WONDERFUL country.

Go to the "dancing within australia information..." link in my signature below for starters.

Then have a read of this thread:
    http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64551

Whilst the OP (original poster) is from the UK.. Canada (as far as I am aware) is also a Commonwealth country so the information is just as relevant to you as it is to the OP.

Make sure you have a working visa before you get here, you'll need it!

Of course. It's the same work visa everyone else gets. It's only good for a few months, but that's plenty of time for a vacation. You just apply for the work visa and they don't ask what kind of work you plan to do.

It's a general working visa as far as I am aware and only valid for a few months initially. There is certain work you can do to have the visa extended for up to two years - most of the backpacker accom. (hostels) here advertise that... and since I'm a native I havn't paid much attention to it other than knowing this about it.

im australian and im making about the same as you are per night.
if thats what you are used to making. then i wouldnt say come here for the gold mine, come over on a bit of a holiday and check the place out, that amount of money is nice anyway to trip around on and i think you could get away with not having a visa... dunno though, im not the right person to go into that stuff, i know nothing about it.

Anyone who plans to work over here will generally require a work visa esp. if they want to work at the good clubs. Just like the US, all the good clubs in Australia have paperwork for us dancers to fill out... esp. after the ATO hit the industry recently making sure all the dancers and clubs were legitimate (natives like myself have to have an ABN).

We at the Crazy Horse have Canadian Features come over all the time as we have an agent that organises this plus we sponsor the Miss Nude Canada's and have features come over through this way as well.

This is one option, the other is to like other people have stated, come over to Australia as a working holiday and from there you will be able to figure out if it's worth coming back to work full time for say 3 months.

We have a Canadian Feature working at the club right now that came over to Australia with her boyfriend, did a deal with management in pay wise, and is working until our next feature arrives.

So you can organise it through an agent in Canada or come over via a working holiday. Just make sure you have your visa sorted out. No matter what part of Australia you decide to go to, im sure if you bring over merchandise and have the goods for what that club is looking for, you will find work.

This is a late reply, but I want to tell you that your friend is wrong, at least as far as lap dances in Melbourne go. The average price for a three-song dance is $50, with $20 being the going rate at most places for a single-song dance. It's also very difficult to make over $1000 a night at most places in Melbourne. You really have to be la creme de la creme of hustlers to get much over a grand, and even then it has to be a good night. However Melbourne has an advantage over Sydney in that most clubs charge a relatively low, flat house fee as opposed to taking a hefty cut of your total earnings. Also, most clubs here do not allow touching, so you'd want to pick Melbourne over Brisbane (Queensland is a touching state) if you're adamant about no-contact.

In NSW the price of a private show is $80 per 15 minutes. No lap dances in NSW, instead the dancers do non contact private shows.
Not all the clubs in Sydney take a percentage, just Mens Gallery, Pure Platinum and Dancers Cabaret. However I wouldnt class Sydney as a gold mine either, its been near dead for ages now.

If she is from Canada I dont think she will need a working visa as it's part of the Commonwealth.
In Melbourne as Flickad said the going price for private dances is about $50 for 3 songs or 2.5 songs if u cut it a bit short as a lot of dancers do.

I also agree with Flickad that $1000 a night just won't happen in Melbourne.
You can get it if u work hard on a saturday night but as for the rest of the week you can expect half of that or even less.
Some girls only average about $100-$200 on weeknights esp if they dont have regulars.

What exactly is a private show? Where is it done? Centrefold is not really a lap dance coz u cant sit in their lap. Is it the same as that or even less contact?

it's where you're on a podium a certain number of feet (meters) away from the customer doing a dance for him there.

Less contact - absolutly none at all
The dances are done in little rooms with chairs around a small stage - a smaller version of the main room really.

You dont have to be a certain distance away though, its like a 5cm distance rule or something. Infact I think my private show dances piss all over my lap dances - and theyre not bad at all ;-D

Wow..$600 to $1000 a night? From my experience this should not be expected in Australia....at least not in Brisbane or Sydney
