honestly, with the dimensions you provided, even if you carried the weight really well, i am pretty sure that puts you in the obese category. and as much as diversity is great, unless you were inbetween/joke stripper, i don't think anyone would want to see you naked.

i'm not trying ot be bitchy, i just can't imagine someone who is 4'10 and 160 lbs being anything less than obese. post a picture.

yeah those measurements really do sound pretty big.... i'm all for curvy strippers but if you are as big as i am picturing you from what youve said, you will probably have a hard time getting hired, and even if you do you will definitely get a lot of harsh comments about your weight. i mean fuck, i'm 5'8" and 127lb and i still get told by customers that i'm too fat.

At your height and weight you are considered clincally obese. For making a decent living as a dancer you should consider getting closer to 100lbs or so. I weight 20lbs less than you do and I am 5'7" and get the "Thick" comments from customers all the time.

I just wanted to offer you my Kudos for making an effort to get the weight off, if not only for your looks, for your health too! When I need to drop weight fast, I do a ton of cardio. I do two cardio sessions a day of about 45 minutes each. You want to be really sweating and breathing heavy during your workout.

Depending on your age, you should shoot for your heart rate to be around 150-180 BPM during you cardio workouts. If you do those workouts 2 times a day, you can basically eat whatever you want and still drop weight. But to get the weight off even faster try any of the popular diets out there (South Beach, Weight Watchers, Body For Life, etc.).

Good luck to you! I really do mean well and wish you good health and a slammin' hot body.

Darcy I cannot believe customers telling you at five eight and 127 that you are too fat. I'm four inches shorter than you and I weigh 118... At your height you are just right if not a few pounds UNDER weight!!

Oh my gosh, that so mean! It depends on the club you go to. And how head strong you are. Ive seen bigger girls run circles around me. Cause of a good attitude and alot of times guys want a bigger girl cause they have bigger boobs. If you were in Tennessee, you could come work at the club, I use to work at.

You may have to lose some weight if you are only 4'10...125 pounds would be a curvy ideal for you.

The stomach area is one of the most difficult areas to lose weight...you have to really eat a clean diet and do a mix of cardio and weight training plus ab training....it won't happen overnight, but it would be great if you got on a program and let us all see your progress

There are some clubs, in some areas, where you could probably work, I think (without a picture it's hard to tell). Maybe someone more familiar with RI can give you a better answer.

If a customer told me I was fat, he wouldn't get a lap dance, period. I would tell him, " I might break your lap or your bones"

I really wish people would stop talking in weight and start talking in, say, waist/hips ratio. I have a big ribcage and broad shoulders for a woman, so I've actually gained pounds as I've moved towards the hourglass figure (5'6" and 144 at last weigh-in) -- but I look smokin' hot and that's all anyone tells me at work. (heck, a guy who bought dances from me today said I could be a model! I laughed and told him "only in the Marilyn Monroe days". My figure is working out to be the curvy type, not stick.)

Anyway, can't say what you look like without, y'know, seeing a picture.

If you are squishy in the tummy, then, yes, it's likely that you won't be hired as a stripper. Cruel, but just the facts. Do not concentrate on *pounds*, however -- just work on shape. Go to the gym, do crunches until you're sore (then do a backbend to stretch your abs), then train every muscle you can think of. :-) Cardio + weight training works generally better than cardio alone, muscle mass improves your base metabolism . . .

    ^Yes yes yes yes yes!

Nobody can really tell if you're a healthy weight just from your height and weight. Bust/waist/hip ratio is much more revealing. For example, I've been working out (cardio & weights) for three months and gone from a size 12 to a size 8, but only lost about 7 lbs. That's because I lost fat but gained muscle, which is heavier.

Still, even if you are very toned, 4'10, 160 does seem heavy. The only way to know if you'll get hired is to try. Many clubs relax their hiring standards on the day shift, so you might try working days until you tone up. Also, I don't know what race you are, but clubs that cater to black and Latino customers are sometimes more tolerant of a thick girl, because they're customers aren't as wedded to the WASP-waisted ideal as white guys are. If you don't get hired, I hope you'll take that as motivation to get in shape, rather than letting it get you down. If you really want to be a dancer, you can find a way. Good luck!

From the back, yeah! From the front, well, not so much but if you carry yourself well you could pull it off at a smaller club. You'll need a huge personality and super tough skin, but you seem to have that. If I were you I would spend some time at clubs, getting a feel for the atmosphere and the dancing and how to carry yourself as a dancer, and make sure you really have it down before you audition.

I think curvy girls are pretty darn sexy. It really depends on how your attitude is. If you feel comfortable in your skin, it really shows and customers respond positively to that. You can fill a niche, most clubs have few if any voluptuous women and that means BANK if you're one of a kind. I worked with a gorgeous, almost plus sized dancer. She carried herself like she was the Queen of Sheba and customers bought dance after dance after dance from her becuase she was "a real woman". Face it, some dudes like waifs, some guys like school girls,... some guys like curves.

    Hello!
So this is from my own personal experience, but it might be totally different from you: I'm in good shape, but I always seem to have a tummy. What I noticed is that when I didn't eat wheat for 2 or 3 days, it went down dramatically and I lost a few pounds. It's probably because of my food allergy to wheat, but anyway, a lot of people I know (including my husband) just bloat up from eating wheat. You might give it a try, it couldn't hurt.
