Sweetie I'm so sorry about everything.

If they pay the waitresses how they pay the dancers I can understand them shorting the books!
Bah- sucky.
You're too good for that shit. Seriously, that club will always have drama, you'll always have the stress of worrying if they're going to short you or not...there are better clubs.
((Hug))
Feel better soon!
Feature costumes for sale!
that sucks man, it could only get better. There is hope. You will shake this off. *hugs*

Well, sorry you had to go through all that, and you clearly deserve better--but if it's any consolation I like the way you wrote about it, you have an interesting style.
I've always been curious what it would be like to DJ in Chicago, since I've spent a lot of time there in the past, though I very rarely went to SCs there. From the sounds of it not so profitable for the dancers, which sucks. At least it is cleaner than Detroit, where you might find yourself having a bad run of luck and also having to deal with higher expectations from customers.
Hope you find a club more worthy of you soon...

btw im dancing in Indianapolis. Not chicago

Whoops, sorry--my mind is still not all here, even a couple weeks after all the events.
I thought you were driving to work in Chicago. But I still liked the rant...
Why drive all the way to Indianapolis? Aren't there any good clubs in Chicago? Not to imply you are making a mistake, I'm just curious.

First of all you are fucking gorgeous, Tart
Secondly, sorry to hear about all this, especially the health issues.
Big Hugs from a new dancer,

the reason im driving from chicago to Indy ..
1. I had a house outside of Indianapolis, that I just sold. So, i've had to be around for that crap.
2. i have sons that are in second semester of school and I didnt want to pull them out, take them to a new city and attempt to keep their grades from falling.
I moved to chicago on a whim. I was up here as it was every weekend to see friends ( I do not have my sons on the weekends. )
One day I just sorta decided fuck Indiana. I have hated the state since I moved there from NY in 2001. I just wanted out .I had the cash ..the idea and the need to go. I knew if I didnt just pick up and move us I never would.
Although it's been hell on my car, my sleep etc its still going to be worth it. I do not want to dance till im 50. I've already got in 10 years. My body simply isn't holding up to the strain, the hours are doing most the damage and I want to alert and more active in my sons lives , rather then working till 4 am and getting 3 hours sleep, being bitchy and dragging ass to baseball games.
This move is about them, not me. I want them to have the chance to grow up in a more culturally diversed community, have the ability to attend great catholic schools etc etc. I also can get a square job here without incident.
Now the chicago clubs, Im ignorant to. I know nothing. If and that's a big IF ..I do dance here it would be at the VIP. its about 5 minutes from my brownstone and is about the same pace that I'm currently comfortable and use to. Im still scared to go in and try out though.
So to make a long answer shorter, I drive home sundays ..work Monday - Thursday ..I leave Friday to return to chicago after the boys get out of school . This way my schedule and their schedule jive.

It's quite impressive that you think so much of your children.
I like Chicago, except the damned weather is terrible.
It's been a few years since I've been there, but who knows, I might go back soon for a visit--I have a client/friend who might have some work for me there. I doubt if I'd move there again, no more winter for me!
When I was in Michigan the woman I was with was considering trying out Diamonds, a club in the western suburbs. I've never been there, so I can't say, but it sounded pretty nice when we did some checking on it.

The winter was worse in Indy then chicago i think.
I like the weather here. But I also didnt mind Ny winters either. Indiana ..sucked. Mostly because for some reason they dont clear the roads as fast. Whichis really all I care about.
I'll look up diamonds. however, I like gown clubs .. min to no contact if i can get that and not full nude. I'm asking for a lot i know lol.
The club im going to have to work at in Indy now is the complete opposite minus the full nude. But the mgmnt is better to deal with and we are always paid right then and there. No funny money BS

Well from the sounds of it you deserve what you are asking for.Originally Posted by Tart

As I recall, Diamonds was an above average sized club, fairly nice--but like I say I've never been there.
I do know they have a couple pretty nice gown clubs downtown, and Chicago has a rep for being fairly clean. Of course the people who still live there and work there will have a good idea where you could go.
