    Default Storing Gowns Properly

I am such a headcase! Blame it on my not going to my prom and not having a sweet 16 party. Work is really the only place I feel very glamorous. When I'm at the University I am in jeans and converse sneakers. So I suppose, to compensate, my crazy ass decides to purchase a whole lot of dresses...
I am addicted to internet shopping and I have recently bought several (about a dozen) gowns. I won't be wearing them till after finals, some I wont be wearing till after my boob job, so how should I store these dresses for the time being? If I fold them they might get creases, if I hang them the straps might stretch. How shoudl I store them right?

I hang them up. I don't find that the straps stretch when I hang gowns, but if you're concerned about that you could use a hanger with skirt clips to support it more by clipping the top. Are they just regular stripper lycra gowns or are they heavily beaded or sequined?

I would also like to know what types of gown they are...
Make sure you get padded hangers if you want to just fold them over them, this will help with any lines.

Some are beaded and feel pretty heavy (I tend to like weighty gowns). A couple I got on sale so they are made of generic stetchy fabric. Most are in the middle, not too heavily adroned, not quite made of chiffon. One in particular is made of a metalic stretch fabric and wrinkles like crazy. The pappded hangers sound liek a great idea! Where can I pick some up?

You might also try going to the local drycleaner's and getting some shoulder guards or bust forms- they would help to keep the dresses from hanging so "straight."

EDIT: On the beaded ones...make sure you have good support for them (since they're so heavy). Bust forms would be really good for dresses like that. (If you want to hang them, that is.)

Beaded or sequin gowns that are heavier can stretch if you hang them up for too long- regular gowns shouldn't stretch. For heavier gowns, put them in a garment bag or put them on a hanger with a garbage bag over it or something, and try to lay them flat if you have room (like under your bed).
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.

I would put the beaded gown in a big ziplock bag (folded). If it touches more delicate fabrics (ie your other gowns), it could snag them.
