Default Tanning bed turns nails yellow

I have fake nails and tan about 3 times a week. My nails turn yellow the more I tan. Does anybody else have this problem?

Its because they are acrylic. They have little things you can buy to put over them, otherwise make a fist and try to cover them from the rays. I used to work at a salon so I never got the acrylics, I opted for the 'crystal' nails. They are a little more expensive but they wont turn yellow, and are better for your nail beds supposedley. Anyways, I would just get the nail covers, they are pretty cheap and last forever! Hope I helped

Just put a piece of masking tape on each nail. Masking tape isn't very sticky, so it peels off easily without leaving any sticky stuff on your nails.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.

I have acrylics and mine never turn yellow. But I think I have a special sealer on mine? Ask your technician, maybe?

Try the solar nails.. no polish and they are buffed out - they stay nice for at least three weeks. No yellow in the tanning bed.

Yup, mine used to do that all the time too, and in the natural sun. You either have to have a special UV filtered top coat (which doesn't always help completely) or the caps that you can buy that are specially made for it!

I use a vitamine e uv top coat and never had a problem, I have one bottle and the girl who does my gel nails puts it on when shes done my nails. The bottle was like $10 or something like that, cant remember it came with my accelerator.

It also depends on the acrylic that your technician uses. Some acrylics withstand the exposure better.

my nail salon offers to put the protection on them for like, 6 extra dollars. Just ask when you get your nails done.
