18 mins wtf?!? i guess i dont really run out of moves anymore but when i first started if i didn't know what to do i would just listen to the music and dance to it, i wouldn't focus on what i need to do next. i think it looks better when there's no routine but that comes with experience. make sure you pay attention to everyone and make tons of eye contact and move slow.

my advice would be watch other girls to pick up some new moves or you can search google for pole dance videos.

18? Lord, I would die! I worked in a club in NC that would let girls play songs that were up to like 7 minutes in length, and there were girls that would do two 7 minute songs. I would try and make sure I was not doing private dances when those girls were on stage.

I started at 18 so I kinda know how u feel, just go wit the flow gurl.. dont practice too much! that'll make u more nervous.. confidence is a major key! .. good luck
I owe my success to having listened respectfully to the very best advice, and then going away and doing the total opposite

yes, i am in canada. i hate the idea of being on the stage for an entire 18 minutes by myself. that seems like an eternity!! i wish it was more like 10...that's enough time to take off all your clothes, even in a slow fashion. thanks for the tips!

I do 20 minutes sets here in Iowa and yes they can be tiring but I prefer them. More time on stage works for me. They arent going to care if you do the same thing a couple times in a row. Most of them arent looking at dancing ability anyway.

When all else fails... lay on your back and open and close your legs and wiggle yer bum bum... go on your tummy and stick yer ass out.. shit like that. Move super slow so it takes up time. Also lay on your tummy and stick your tounge out at the crowd.. just stupid little shit, you would be surprised how much time it takes up.

I did five twenty minute sets today Four song sets... make sure you have plenty of clothes to strip out of... takes up time.

i second the wear an outfit with lots of pieces idea. when i have to dance to three songs early in the night as opposed to two (18! i cant imagine!) i always wear several layers. its more of a striptease that way, too.

i wouldnt be too concerned about repeating moves or pole tricks. nobody notices, and if they do, they probably like seeing it again. do your set and then do it backwards again if you have to!

its happened to me twice now that near the end of the night at my club all the dancers will be gone! either upstairs or in front smoking or in the dressing room.
so i got put up onstage (once when I was headed for to the bathroom - i had to pee the entire time!!!).
i was just left up there song after song because no girls were around.
i danced for like twenty minutes one time, with no tipping, and i got so mad i didnt go into work the next day!

i can dance for 18 minutes, but it made me too tired to then go sell dances.

It sucks that you get tired and can't sell dances. Maybe exercise will build up your stamina. Also, eating lots of pasta will give you energy. Good luck!

My first audition, I moved way too fast and looked nervous. The second time around I kept this mantra in my head: "relax, and seduce..." Try and feel the music and use a lot of hip movements. Enjoy the way your body feels, and try and convey this sensuality.

Don't even worry about a routine. It will just make you more nervous and you'll end up getting thrown off by the tons of guys coming up to the stage and tipping you. Quick way to kill time, when a guy comes over to tip you, spend a minute introducing yourself.
