    Default New laser application

This could be interesting. How do I invest? Big money here if it works!

From the Times (UK): Fat-busting laser revolutionises treatment for acne and cellulite

    Snippet:
Acne, cellulite and excess fat zapped with the flick of a switch? ... [S]cientists have developed a laser technique that can target and melt fat under the skin. ...

Cellulite — deposits of subcutaneous fat and fibrous tissue that cause a dimpling effect on the overlying skin — and other surface body fat could be targeted, as well as the fatty plaques that form in arteries, leading to heart attacks, Dr Anderson said. ... Using the FEL, which is much more powerful than a conventional laser, the scientists were able to choose selected laser wavelengths that could heat up the fat, which was then broken down and excreted by the body.

They found that the process, called selective photothermolysis, did not affect the area of skin that was exposed to the beam.

I learned a long time ago there's no sense getting all riled up every time a bunch of idiots give you a hard time. In the end, the universe tends to unfold as it should. Plus I have a really large penis. That keeps me happy.

I didn't put this post here because I've thought of the "Body Business" forum as being only for the dancers.

But one of the moderators has moved it here.

    Which, of course, is fine.

But I apologize if anyone is offended (e.g. by any unintended implication that I think anybody here has acne or cellulite issues that I have a right to comment on!).

This sounds great...but. I'm a bit skeptical on these things though.

That can make someone's face have all these craters. I'd be scared too.

I read the article and the technology described is a long way off from being widely available.

There are two new technologies currently in clinical trials that probably will hit the market in the next 2 years. Both use ultrasound to "melt" approximately 500cc of fat which the body then excretes on its own.

As it stands now, there is NO CURE for cellulite. There are hundreds of products and procedures out there, but STILL CELLULITE!!

Being in the beauty industry, I constantly get approached by salespeople to sell me fancy laser equipment.

If you've ever heard of the Elos VelaSmooth (combines massage, radiofrequency and infrared light) then you should be advised that it doesn't work. I saw the before and after pictures, and they all look the same. This machine sells for tens of thousands of dollars.

There are also creams and lotions, and potions, and wraps, and whatever the hell else. None of these work.

Laser attracts itself to pigment (color), and destroys it by means of heat. Fat cells don't have pigment like hair does. Laser works on hair, but it can't possibly work on fat. It can work on pimples because it attracts itself to the blood that is in the pimple (blood has lots of pigment). Fat, however, has no pigment. If it did, you would see dark patches of skin in the areas where you have cellulite. And that's how I know that laser doesn't work on cellulite.
