Here in NJ we are considered go go dancers because we wear thong bikinis...no nudity and full bar. A handful of places here are nude (no alcohol) so they're called strip clubs.

Yea, go-go dancers don't take their clothes off... in a place like NYC, go-go dancers are usually on a platform or in a cage or something in a night club. They don't do lapdances and what not. Most don't get tipped either.

Yeah, does anyone know how much they make? I was watching a think on MTV (I think) a while ago and it was one of those True Life shows and the girl on it was a go go dancer and she said she made really good money.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.

I've always wanted to do go-go dancing. I've been involved in different kinds of dance for several years and think it would be a lot of fun. I plan on losing a few pounds this summer and then applying for a position at a club in dallas. ^_^

Go-go in NJ is similar to other strip clubs. We get tipped a lot more on stage than clubs in other states. The bar is built around the stage, the guys sit at the bar and tip you over the bar. We do private dances at most clubs so we get dance money and stage money.

Dance clubs with gogo dancing men and/or women pay you for the night. You rarely get tips from clubgoers. I've tried doing gogo at dance clubs but the money isn't as good as working at a Gogo club. The hours are long with few breaks and less pay. But you do meet some smokin' dudes at work.

In Phoenix, Go-Gos work on platforms/stages in the dance clubs, usually wearing booty shorts and tinytiny tanks but sometimes even wearing thongs and pasties. The girls are way more in shape than most strippers I see and their costumes are matchy-matchy with those of the other girls. I know they don't make too much more than $100 for en evening.. I'm not sure if it's cash or not. Definitely a good cover-up job for the dancer who has trouble explaining where she always goes at night.

You can check out the go-gos at www.eventvibe.com... There are even a couple videos to show the style of dance. You definitely have to be able to move to techno/trance, hip-hop and house.

I use to go go dance it dancing in very little clothes at 35 dollars an hour. You get tipped sometimes if the guys like you. Honestly i rather go go dance then strip. Do anyone know if there are any companies or bars that are hiring go go dancers in the chicago area?

The Lizard Lounge. It's something fairly recent, from what I've seen. I think they've only had dancers for the past year or so. (fridays or saturdays, i believe)

In NYC, They usually make about $50/hr. The ads that I've seen are usually advertising $150/3 hr shift. I would rather go-go dance (which is what I originally wanted to do), but somehow I ended up stripping. Oh well, I like the stripping too. Maybe I'll go-go dance one or two nights on the side...

I was gonna gogo dance in NYC, but didn't do it. You basically dance where ever they need you. And it's $150 a night, for 2 or 3 15 minute dance sets. Not bad. That's like less than an hour. Then you're done for the night.

Greggy & Vyanka, try out Webster Hall. I worked there and it was fun. The woman who ran it then was nice as was the other dancers. I didn't keep it up because it's not as much money as Jersey gogo.
