OTB....not sure where you're flying from or to but I have used Spirit for the lowest fares. My May trip to Florida is costing me $59.00 each way.
You might also try JetBlue if they are available. Good luck.
southwest was running a special. Not sure how fast you need to leave though I think it was for 2 or 3 weeks advance booking.
DylanAngel what is spririt? Is that an online booking or is it an airlines?

Depends on where you're going and when. The best solution is to try them all and also try to book directly through the airlines websites. I've found Orbitz to usually have the cheapest prices.
But mind you, the cheapest itenerary isn't neccesarily the best one, particularly if you need to get somewhere fast.

I booked my cancun flight for the cheapest price on hotels.com . Other than that I say orbitz....although spring break the year before the cheapest prices I was finding were on travelocity.
I think that it also depends on where you are flying out of for which site will give you the cheapest prices. Also...I think I found that if you book later at night the prices are cheaper than if you book your trip during the middle of the day. (I don't mean like fly in the middle of the night, but I mean actualy log onto your computer and book the trip later.)
Spirit is an airline, I'm not sure it goes that far west though.

Ack,Spirit and Jet Blue don't fly out of New Orleans to where I need to go.
Also,is it cheaper to book flight/hotel/car combo or separately?????
Thanks,again guys.

I have had the best luck with travelocity.com I got my flight to PHX for $475 when every other website was $800+
Usually its cheaper to book everything together because you get a discount. Check prices together then check to see what it would be booking seperate from different sites.

I usually check , Travelocity, Expedia and to compare rates. Then check AmericaWest, Southwest and Ted. You can try rates for separate hotel / airfare and together. Sometimes it's cheaper one way, sometimes the other.
Where ever you find the cheapest rate, make sure you go directly to the airline's website to book it - you'll save the booking fee the travel sites charge.

So far,Orbitz and Expedia are the cheapest with the triple combo.I will keep looking.Thanks,guys.

If you search www.airninja.com, it searches Expedia, Travelocity, Kayak, and another.
If your dates are slightly flexible, use Travelocity's +1, -1 button. This will tell you the cheapest flights within a few days. Then go to that airlines website, and search those dates.
If you use Airtran, apply for their credit card, then use it to pay for your flight. If you fly once more after that, you will get a free flight.

I usually use one of the major sites (Expedia, Travelocity, etc.) to compare fares and schedules across most airlines/hotels/car hire companies, then go direct to the airline, hotel, or rental car company to make the actual booking. Unless the travel arranger offers an absurd discount for booking as a single itinerary, I've found it less expensive to book without a middleman. Also, if you're collecting miles or points, sometimes you don't get those bonuses when booking through a Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, etc.

LOL OTB tell us where you're going and we can help you better because different places have different rates and level of service/frequency of flights.
I received an email from Airtran, they are having a 48 hour sale. Flights out of New Orleans are $89-$109, one way.

No one mentioned priceline. I've booked all my flights through them and have always gotten reasonable prices. Are there better deals to be found on these other websites? I never tried any of them. What about cheaptickets.com? I've never used them, but I've heard they were good too.

Isn't the deal with PriceLine and CheapTickets that you can't pick your itinerary? (I'd always thought/heard that those sites will find you the cheapest fare, but you may have to connect through Middle of Nowhere Regional Airport, or make two or three connections, in the process.)

That was the initial deal with Priceline, but I believe since then they've added an Orbitz/Expedia like system as well. Personally, I like to pick my itinerary, even if it costs a little bit more. I don't want to be laid over in Nowheresville for six hours.Originally Posted by The_Oceans
If you decide to go the bid route though, and are comfortable with the potential drawbacks, never, never, assume your asking price is too low. The worst thing that can happen is they say they don't have anything.

if u booked a flight+hotel combo u dont need to reserve anything with the hotel. the hotel is sent your flight info and when u get to vegas, just go to the hotel and your information ought to already be registered. You just need to bring ID and maybe a confirmation number/print out of package. hope that is what you were wondering!!

Well, you just find a flight off one of the aforementioned sites that works for you, whip out the ol' credit card, and book it. Then you show up at the airport on your departure date in a timely manner.Originally Posted by onlythebest
