Default Need help! - things to do in/around Coco Beach Fla?

In July, I'll be spending a week in Cocco Beach with my 15 year old nephew and 14 year old neice. Other than Disney and Cape Canaveral, I know nothing about the area and am looking for ways to entertain them.

Basically, I'll be supporting my nephew as he attends a basketball tournament thier parents will go as well and they will attend each and every game - but to keep my neice happy, I thought I'd take her off to do something a couple of times to break things up.

For all you who know Florida - are there any good wholesome outdoor activities which a high energy super smart 14 year old girl would enjoy?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

You have the basics... Disney, Busch Gardens, Sea World... Yeah there is KSC in Cape Canaveral... umm.. hrm. There is a skateboarding park behind Merritt Square Mall, but I think there are more in Orlando. There is a mini golf course that I THINK has a rock climbing wall in Cape Canaveral over near Lidos... Orlando is yer best bet beyond going to the beach. Orlando has Wet And Wild, all those theme dinner places like the PIrates one and the Medieval one.... and lots of smaller theme parks. Ya just gotta cruise around for em.

yea cocoa beach is small. the beach is the main attraction here. there is a rock climbing, go cart, putt putt golf place on the beach. there is ron jons and cocoa beach surf co surf shops that teenagers will like. cocoa beach surf co (these two are next door btw) surf shop even has a starbucks in it, a cafe and big saltwater tank. there is also a surfing school available if she is intrested. also located inside cocoa beach surf co.

are you stripclubbing too or is this all for the kids?

    Velvet,

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll add it to the list of alternatives and let her make the choice. I sure hope she'd rather go rock climbing or kayaking than the theme park stuff. I'm sure she'll chose shopping (what teenage girl wouldn't?) - regardless it'll be fun to see that part of the country again - I haven't been for about 6 years and back then it was all business.

As for the stripclubbing - I wish I could, but it'd be too difficult to explain to the kids why I'm not spending all my time with them. You never know, my brother sure likes going and strangely we did take my nephew along with us into some raunchy places on Bourbon street (he was 13 at the time and we laughed when he reacted grossed out).

    If so, any recommendations?
