If you are uncomfortable working without long hair, then buy a wig. If you have no problem with not having hair and are just upset about your loss in money, then just tell the guys that you shaved off your hair because you wanted to support your sister. They'll probably think that's really cool and tip you more.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.

Guys like hair. Sigourney Weaver and Natalie Portman look cool bald in the movies, but the vast majority of guys want a feminine stripper with long silky hair, rather than a butch-looking stripper who might beat them up. And they won't usually want to hear about your sister's cancer either. I think it's a wonderful gesture that you did, and I hope your sister recovers fully and well, but you should invest in a good wig for dancing in.

When I first started dancing it was about 2 months after shaving my head- so my hair was like an inch long. I did OK- but when I wore wigs I do think I did better. And it was just fun to buy different wigs and try different looks. I would get a little self consious with the wig while giving private dances- if the guy reached up to touch my hair- I'd have to smoothly back away- or in some cases I'd just say "I'm wearing a wig." Course then they want to know what your real hair is like- just lie and say it's only a couple inches shorter than the wig and a different color. Whatev. But anyways- wigs can be alot of fun- try it out!

As someone who 'markets' herself due to her long hair... WIG! I wouldn't know how to 'live' without my long hair.. I'm just so damn used to it Plus it is so part of my image now.

My hair is past my shoulders but I still wear a pony tail piece that makes me look like I have really long hair. It really does make a huge difference in you earnings.

maybe the black guys think she runs with skinheads?

When I started dancing my hair was only an inch long. I did a wig, and then when I had about three inches, I'd gloss back my hair with gel--wear a headband, and then pull as much hair as possible into this itty bitty ponytail that I'd put a clip on extension on.

Don't forget! Walmart Hair Pills! It's great that you've made your gesture, now you can grow your hair back asap.

I have a short haircut, and I used to wear hair extensions (as in this picture) at work. But I've actually made more money since I stopped wearing them. Buy a wig for now, but consider going without it for a while when your hair's ear-length or so -- that look might work for you, it worked for me!

They think you're racist because you shaved your head? Sounds like they're stretching to find something to grump about. I'd just ignore anyone being a turd and dance your a$$ off for those who appreciate it.

I think that's awesome what you did for your sister! IMO, your family is way more important and years down the road, your sister is going to remember what you did for her for the rest of her life! If you feel that losing your hair has affected your income, then by all means, buy a wig. The only thing that I can also think of that's not already mentioned is, maybe the reason it affected your earnings is because your custies don't recognize you anymore with the short hair. But again, I think what you did for your sister is showing her that you're the best sister she could ask for!

Speaking from experience, after getting my (waist lengh) hair cut (short) I started making more money. Our club owner said its because people can now see my face & body not just swishing hair plus (pretty much) every girl at the club has long hair. Sometimes its good to the be the Different one. Just give the short hair a trial

let it grow out a few inches and then you can get a weave!!
ive seen girls put a weave in their hair with just over an inch of hair to catch it on! they dont stay in as long with white hair, or maybe its just cause white hair looks like crap before black hair does. talk to one of the black girls at work, im sure they could point you in the right direction.

I have long hair but wear short blond wigs all the time, I use
a taxi cab hat or a cute cowboy hat to keep the wig in place.
When I'm not making money as a brunette, on goes the blond
    wig. works every time.

god this thread fucking irritates me

Okay first off. Noble thing with the head shaving for the sister.

Ignorance to you in thinking all fucking skin heads shave their heads., because im a skin and im not racist and I DONT Shave my fucking head.

and you didnt shave your head if you have a chelsea. You shaved the mid left the bangs ..the sideburns which btw is more used by neo nazi skin heads and not sharps.

i dont get this , every post this bonnita chick makes she makes some ref to black men. wtf?!
Which has no relevance to any of the shit going on.

for instance the fake lesbo shit in another post.

    and now the shaved head.

Sometimes we do things for loved ones and dont think about us! Boy if only many many more people would do that.

Anyway, get a wig. Try on many, and have fun! I am sure your earnings will go back up, and your hair can grow in all at the same time. Many many many dancers wear wigs! I see more out of clubs now too! They are hot!

Good luck at the clubs. You had done one of the most best moves in the world. I can't say i would shave my own hair off for a loved one...i probably would have bought a wig for her/him. I take pride in my hair as i am sure you did as well...now that the tips are to my butt again, i don't think i will be cutting it off.

    KUDOS to you!!!!!

When the hair starts to get a bit longer in a few months, you might want to invest in some good quality extensions to supplement. Great Lengths makes some of the best and most natural-looking. They're expensive, but consider it a good investment in terms of getting your lost money back from when your head was shaved.
