    Default pole shopping

my club has recently been remodeling and we just got a new stage floor set in two days ago, while talking to mom *the owner* i suggested that she get new poles since they are in shameful condition. they are more than just tarnished, they are chipped and grooved now so that oils just stay in the little holes and scratches, mom thinks she should just re-chrome them. i gave her the idea that we might look into brass poles instead and we got to talking about all the options like chrome and steal, i have also heard about powder coated poles while searching the forums here. i would just like to know what would be best in the club before i go to her with websites and phone numbers. she asked me to research it for her and i would just like some ideas and feedback before any real decisions are made. i know i would buy brass for my personal pole, but since this is a club the pole is going into i thought maybe you could give me some insight on what would be best for high traffic.

    well..

stainless is probably the most durable and easy to clean. But it's also pretty slick, meaning it doesn't have much grip, so you'll need a strong grip in order to do upside down tricks..but it rocks for spins

brass..is the most common, it's nice because it has grip. But it's a bitch to keep clean. It's a lot of upkeep. And it's a soft metal, so if they go with that, they should get one that's fairly thick.

powder coated..i wouldn't recommend these for heavy use in a club, it's more of a home or exercise studio use. You shouldn't wear rings/jewelry on it because it can chip..and in a club, most women wear rings etc.. They are however EXCELLENT for doing tricks on because it's got excellent grip.

    hth!
